Default Boost....no boost...??

My car aint workin right Stage 3 saff

Sometimes it boosts, sometimes it dont (well, when it does decide to, it only goes to 0.5bar instead of the 1bar its set at)

The dump valve doesnt seem to work ATM either.

Could it be the amal valve (which i had to take off for a bit the other week whilst i changed the rad) the actuator (still a std one cos im only running 14psi) or the turbo (???)

Any ideas anyone?? Help me!!!

Likely symptoms of an actuator problem.

Would be the first thing I change especially on a stage 3 cossie.

Could possibly do good to replace with a -31.

Even if thats not the problem it is something you will need to do to run stage 3 boost (20-23 psi) as a standard one will not really cope.

I doubt very much that it'll be the turbo.

Sounds to me like it's the dumpvalve actually.... Sounds exactly like the issues my mate had with his S2.. Take D/V off and bung up hole (broom handle usually fits ) and don't forget to bung up the vacuum line that fits to top of D/V too (1/4 screwdriver bit with a cable tie round it usually fits too ) and go on a run and see.... SImple things first, if not then go back to amal valve/actuator issues

start the car up and then go unconnect the amal valve, if it clicks it's working,

but check no cracks

air leak on a boost pipe????

or actuator

Jim Galbally,

I knew that, but it aint totally unlimited, its set by my foot i aint daft.

Anyway, checked the amal valve. no click and used the multimeter, so theres definitely a voltage goin to it, so should i go buy a new one first, or try the d/valve thing?

Dave in that case its the amal valve......another test..plug the pipe from actuator straight to the compresser and check boost.
