Yes Tiff, very clever thinking goes into cars these days. There have to certain parameters met before they will deploy.

Just like ABS or traction control won't work below a certain speed and 4 wheel steering won't work above a certain speed.

Wrong angle. I've not heard of airbags going off in a rear end, and sliding into a ditch might not have been severe enough unless you hit something solid hard head on.

Same happened when I rolled my mitsubishi carisma (yeah go on laugh

) into a ditch 3 times. Not one airbag went off despite a glancing blow head on into a rock face.

But then i walked away without a scratch so the airbag computer probably did do its job correctly. Tensioners went off though!

I thought "shit, thats bad" when I read your first post, then read this;

Thanks for all the concearn people
and thought "HOLY FUCKING SHIT!"

Thank Christ the baby is okay Mark - that had the possibility to be horrific....

Can't imagine what the mother must have gone through there - fist to bin the car, then to watch as someone smacked her sisters car that her baby was in the back of! So so so lucky she is fine.....

If the police do him for dangerous driving then why shouldnt they do Tiff's sister in law ? She also had an accident at the same spot at roughly the same time.

Sounds like there was something on the road that caused the cars to spin, it may have been nothing that either of them could have done to avoid both the accidents.

Tiff your mondy held up pretty well and glad one was hurt Hope the GAP is as good as i think it is (i have it on my FRS too ) and you shouldnt be out of pocket

At least everyones ok...

Thanks for the piccy message at 8.50am this morning mate

If you can arrange it I'll need to come and rip the handsfree kit out of the car so it can go in the new one.

Unless you'd like a quote for a replacement.

The road has a bend on it just past the ambulance, that is where the lads 206 came from.
The Missus just drove straight into the layby.....

As for the Audi Estate.....We will see, but it wont be the RS6 just yet

Unbelievable story Tiff, however lucky was that little baby!!

I'm with Andy in terms of thinking that there must have been some reason for both cars coming off the road in that way. Diesel on the road or something I would say. I hope that doesn't make a way out for the insurance, I know what absolute fuckers they are.

Why the dig ?

A valid point when quoted with ALL my original message which was in no
way meant sarcastically or in any negative way to Tiff.

Well, I'm not here to discuss the rights and wrongs of disclosing/not disclosing your mods to your insurance company. For the record, my mods are 100% declared. However, if Tiff had decided NOT to mention his Bluefin and the crafty bastard insurance assesors just happened to stumble over this thread, then that might cause him a problem.

Make sense?
