I've bought one of these off ebay. It's a 1.6 4-AGE engine with a 20 valve head. Supposed to be 160ps. I know nothing about it and the Toyota forum i've asked on seems shit.

It's got Toyota's superstrut suspension. Anyone know what this is?

It has TOM's alloy wheels, are these standard?

me neither, they seem pretty specced up, LSD, 4 throttle bodies, 5 valves per cylinder, think the rev limit is near 8k, variable valve timing, etc.

Looks really guff inside, usual early 90's jap crap fabric and plastics.

I've not picked it up yet. It looks like it's going to be a bitch to get parts/mods for it

I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about them. Want to know what superstrut suspension is and also would like to know how quick they are. Can't find much info on the net.

The engine is also used in a Corolla G6 I think its called, the shape they made into a wrc car.

Damn good engines I was told, talk to Fensport mate, they have plenty of knowledge

My sister has got a 1993 Toyota Celica SSII import (superstrut 2 suspension) i dont know what it means either her bhp on the car standard is 180.

It's FWD. From what little information I can find on the net, they seem to be the only Corolla (other than the newer AE111) that uses a 20 valve 4A-GE.

I've got a feeling parts are going to be a bitch. I was thinking about asking Fensport a bit about them but they are a business and if i'm not buying anything off them, they aren't really going to want to chat to me about them.

I presume the AE111 is the car I was talking about then.

Best thing to do is call them mate, they will either help you out or wont but its atleast worth trying.

A fella i know has a white one.

Revs all day long, and goes pretty well, he tends to import performance upgrades, however he recently bought a damaged one at liverpool dock auctions, where some of the imported motors come in from japan. Which suffices his spare part needs for now.

Other than that i dont know much, but they handle, and rev very well, and the performance is good.

Is the one your mate is breaking the same shape as mine (AE101)? If so, it might be a good idea if you could give me an email address or phone number, might come in handy for parts.

Raw engineering (they make the stryker kit car) know a fair bit about 4AGE engines - they drop em in all sorts of kit cars all the time.
