RAC @ the moment!
AA left me by the side of the road for 3 and a half hours in the rain waiting for a patrol vehical to come out and see me when i snapped my throttle cable. Even tho i said it is not fixable by the road they still sent a patrol vehical and then tried to tow my car home on one of the H section things they stick on the back a put your front wheels in!!! Fucked my exhaust as it dragged all the way home and was then basically told in not so many words "serves me right for having a modified car!"
Bloke was a right arragant tosser as well

On the flip side, I'm with the AA.
Called out three times on the Cossie. First time battery was proper fucked and miles from anywhere, they were quick and had me on my way in 15 mins.
2nd time clutch cable went. Chucking it down, said send a tow truck, they did, home inside 2 hours.
3rd time, exhaust mount snapped, there inside an hour, temp fixed the exhaust for me (like I asked them to) and I was on my way inside 50 mins.
No issues, but everyone has different experiences.

My cover is with the AA. Touch wood, no real issues. The only thing that gets me now tho is that if your car doesn't give out a fault code there isn't anything they can do.
IMO, most of the new guys aren't mechanics like they used to be, they just read what to do from their computer and if the "computer says no" they just tow you home and leave you to it.
