is it just me who has to deal with opinionated idiots
just relisted my rs2000 mk2 on ebay as highest bidder had bought another( )
just had a guy on asking the reserve so i told him £3500
he said he would leave it as there are loads about for less money and better.i told him to let me know about them and ill buy them all.
this is his reply-
Buy a fuckin magazine then! Go to a RS Rally!! I see you didn't sell it in
autotrader then!! You're dreaming with your price. There are plenty of
wankers thinking there cars are so rare and worth a fortune but it's a
different matter selling them for the money unless they are absolutely
concourse. I'll find something at the right money for me eventually
why is he calling me a wanker?
why should i put it in the autotrader-its £31 per ad!
i wonder if he drives a saab?
what a tool-ill rip his fuckin head off

just had this reply from him
There are scores of specialist and older car magazines, go to WH Smiths!
By description and pictures I wouldn't value it at anything like 3500 and being what you allegedly are you should know better. It's not even a custom or still original and doesn't look the nicest of things! Someone has also given it the "Road Rally" attitude!
I Have been in the motor trade for 28 years and involved in motorsport for 20+ years having built, Rallied, bought and sold several RS escorts, Mk1 and Mk2. Being the chairman doesn't make you an expert on price. People who want to spend big money want proper cars!
In answer to your 2nd question, If you think **your** car is "soooo" rare and worth a fortune then the answer is yes!

Jay,
Have you not noticed a trend pal...there is always one person in the centre of all these rows...you....
First you upset the elite saab fraternity and now your trying to diss the old school ford scene.... lol
Ive been looking at loads of mk2's for one of my mates lately and not having seen yours i cant comment conclusively but he paid £3,250 for a road rally car that need some tlc....i'd say £3.5K is about average for a decent mk2 today
Regards
Ian

Ok, was working one day when a chap came into reception enquiring about a stage 3 cossie chip... I told him the benefits and teh cost, £150. To which he pipes up...
"£150, for a 128K Eprom? I work at Maplin, and we can supply those at £4 each..."
I basically told him that was teh price, and if he didnt like it to bugger off. Politely of course, and he persisted in telling me:
"You should maybe do a deal with me mate, buy all your Eproms from me in teh future, i can even maybe get a Staff Discount for bulk too, drop your overheads even more for you.."
"Wow, £150, thats mad, i cant believe that.. thats mad that is!"
And other bollox, he kept coming out with, and i was starting to get pissed off with him, as you can imagine. Anyway, i decided to do him a top deal, i told him that since he was so willing to help me out, i would do him a deal, i would sell him an Eprom to fit his cossie for £5. That way, at least i am still £1 up over his supply cost, cos i do have a business to run....
"Thats wicked mate, really kind of you, i will be back with some prices for you mate, i will look after you, i promise"
And off he went, happy as Larry he had one over on me and saved £145. Cock.
Needless to say, he was back at 9am sharp, ranting and raving!!
"This fooking chip is duff, my car wont even start, used to start on teh button, im going to get it towed here, you can pay the rac bill, blah, billy bollox blah..."
I calmly told him that i knew of course it wouldnt start a car and i am surprised an expert like him even tried it as its the same as an Eprom from Maplins for £4 that also would never start his car. I asked if perhaps he would like to buy another £5 EPROM from me that also contains a Cosworth run program that has taken years of my time and knowledge, not to mention many thousands of pounds of my investment in equipment to develop to its current level so that his stage 3 engine will start, drive and run very nicely as well as reliably? The program for the Eprom is £145 making £150 in total with an Eprom to carry it sir.
He looked at me confused for a while and then i think the Penny dropped. He literally said virtually fook all other than nod, pay me, take his chip and fook off, and ive never seen him or his car again.
Cruel i know, but id had a crap day and was that way out already when he walked in and broke the camels back so to speak.
