i can vouch 100% it wasnt stu@msd as someone suggested. This topic is better left well alone. And lets face it, how many people buy second hand parts cheap, supply and demand is what keeps it going sadly

You should try living round here, if your TV gets nicked you ask your neighbours if they seen/heard anything...

And they will say 'na nothing mate'

But then tell you where there's a cheap one for sale

So what is the treatment in prison for car thieves??

Rehab, with drawel symptons, Maybe car battery charger to the nipples!!

Loads of people know who this is and I can't believe it's not common knowledge.

Is that international enough?

some strange posts going on in this thread isnt there!!!

whats all this i know who shit?you probably know fook all about what really went on,some of the truth and not the overhyped bullshit and romance isnt as "hollywood" as some of you think, and some of the old "stories" have spun out of control over some folks actual inocense!!

if you have thoughts or comments about alledged happenings in the past then best to keeo them to your selves,

oh and for the record,no matter what andy and pete say about me ive never ever stolen or had a stolen car in my knolodge ever.
yes i baught a ringer subaru off a car dealer last year that had been used on false id for 3 years, police came here over something entirly non car related and checked it out as it was sat outside my workshop, number plate came back legit as did vin tag but the bulkhead number had been alterd,
and the said subaru was just collected back from the police by us a few weeks ago as they said we had a legitamate claim on it as we baught it in good faith, only had to pay the recovery and storage charges to the insurance company who paid out on it,having the neccessary licences and paperwork in the motor trade makes all the difference with this sort of vehicle.

iam often tarred with being a car theif, often by some of the traders trying to black mark me and get the trade, smells like desperation to me though, but i havnt,i wish i had sometimes as it would make my job so much more easier!!!!!!!!

i believe that one of our fellow traders on here came very close to getting a visit he really didnt need only last year from somebody he had been slagging off, nothing to do with me as it was someone from south of birmingham, but that trader had been running his mouth about something he did have a clue about and was very neally in big trouble,to this day i dont know if he knows how lucky he is or how close it came!!!but just shows loose lips and talking, thinking, dreaming bollocks can cost dearly.
if its nothing to do with you i always beleive you should keep quiet.

its safer that way eh.

where ever you live in the country there will always be chop shops its a fact of life,
Its not right but neither is selling drugs this is something we all have to deal with,it dosent matter what car you own from a Tranny van to a Porche there still targets,
all you can do is to try and secure your cars but at the end of the day if they want it bad enough they will take it,
Stolen parts and cars have been around for years and will be around for years to come, with the internet so big and advertisng so easy its not hard to sell parts but its harder to try and find them
I beleive its harder today to take a car off the side off the road with todays modern alarm systems I know the bother Ive had with cars which I have has alarms go down on,makes you wonder how any get stolen

Before people start going for each others throats, how many of you traders no where some of there best customers money or very desposable incomes come from??

Is it any different than accepting cash that is ill gotten gain.... or cheap car parts??

The reason car thefts have gone down is because it is easier to make much more money from different crimes now. It is the same in every country there is a huge amount of dirty money circulating.
And fast cars, wheather it be buying them, or spending on them is an easy way to spend it. As is holidays abroad and any other liesure activity.

What this tread has ended up talking about all happened along time ago.
let sleeping dogs lie if you don't want to get bitten.... is a good saying.

Back to what this tread started about if you find out who these current thieves are then let the people know who have lost there cars.
Let them sort it

Pete, going by the amount of threads on a lot of bbs about stolen cars, thefts are more prevalent now than they ever have been. The professional thieves have so much new technology to help them. They know how to disable alarms/immobilisers and trackers and make it look easy.

all this was in the past, nearly everyone has some sort of history that they want to forget about.

as long as people have changed their ways then i say give them a second chance.

this thread does not help as people are innocent people are getting targeted and its not far on them.

Some professionals even have recovery trucks, painted to look like a legit recovery service. This is how an EVO MR400 got stolen from Santa Pod and Tracker never even got a signal from it.

read too many things on the internet Pete.

we all know now that with the immobilisers etc....that it pretty hard for the oppertunist thief to just to 'take' a car these days.

Pro's are different though.

i think thats why theft has slowed down a lot from years ago.

Easier to do other things to make your money these days.
