cosworth hydraulic lifters can they hold valve open
when the cam is off lift the valve is open ever so slightly only on a few and just to add thers no bent valves..
has any one seen a hydraulics lifter hold open a valve on a cossy head I went to see for my self head was rebuilt with new valve guides and seals and skim and new double valve spring and new hydraulics in but 2 valve are get held open a bit and if you take the cams out they close its using bd16 s I can only put it down to the lifters as the valves are std size and were the old ones before

If the tappet has stuck mate then yes it will hold the valve open a little
I have had this before , the center of the tappet had jammed , and this is what pushes on the valve , and so wont shut and let the valve seat back in the head

Not heared of this before on a YB but someone may be able to answere your question for you
If its been skimmed etc has the machinist sunk the valve seats ? thus causing the valve's to protude further on the cam side ?
Just a stab in the dark mate
Regards Doug .
