Is this a con???
Has anyone used www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk?
I applyed for a contract with them yesterday and got sent this through today...

who will hold the deposit for 6 months subject to terms and conditions.

The data protection act only covers personal information, and NEVER from the individual to whom the data is referring.
So that bit of it at least is a load of bollocks, personally i wouldnt give them my money, but its up to you.

alot of companys do it now with phone contracts, it takes away the risk of you not paying your bills. deposit is returned after x amount of months of bills paid on time. If one company is asking you for a deposit chances are others will too.

It does not matter who you got to for a mobile phone... ie carphone wharehouse, the link etc... It is the network provider that as asking for a deposit as you have bad credit or no credit history. If it was vodaphone that asked for the deposit through onestop phone shop then even if you got to vodaphone.com they will still ask for this deposit.

Your deposit will actually be paid to the network (ie Vodafone, Orange etc). As Steve said, this is credited to your account after a given number of months, nothing to do with one stop whatsoever. It's a network thing nothing to be concerned about matey.
