Braided brake lines...
can you use braided brake lines as an every day road car or not?IE from front to back underneath the car.
I was told that no i cant use them. I said okay no problem i will simply slide the braided hose over the top of the orginal lines as an effect that they are fitted.
He says on both options the car will fail an MOT. Is this true???

He will want to see them to ensure that theyre not rusty. If you cover solid pipes in a braided sheath he wont be able to tell if they are good or not hence a fail.If you run them inside the car you will be defeating the object of having them which i assume is to look nice.

You can run stainless braided hoses under the car with no problems at all. I have done it for years.
As for the comment regarding keep hard pipes to stop a spongey pedal, WTF??? You get a less spongey pedal with decent braided hoses, as they retain there shape for almost there whole lifetime, whereas standard pipes corrode and standard hoses perish.
If you go from master cylinder to caliper, you have less potential for leaks too, as you have less joints to fail.

.
.
If you are running the braided hoses outside of the car get the ones that are plastic coated. Otherwise, grit gets in amongst the braid and can damage the brake pipe.

As far as I am aware braided lines are ok front to back etc....as long as they are well secured.....if you leave them free they car move about when you press the pedal and hence giving a spongey pedal.

All I read is people posting bollox...
Fluid will pass down a tube, the point of that tube beginning to expand under pressure is WAY WAY WAY above what your right (or left) foot could put it under.
Braided lines will NOT give you a worse pedal feel in that respect.

As indicated on the Turbosport thread, it takes a lot more effort to make and fit copper lines. I may still use copper lines in some places, I have not fully decided.

So why wouldnt i want my brakes to look good
The whole of my running gear is being powdercoated and stuff in 6 weeks time when car is taken of the road so its only natural that i dont neglect the fuel and brake lines.
