2.3 scorpio (mechanics please)
Im takin the bottom end out of a 2.3 scorpio. all bell housing bolts and auxhillary items have been taken off. Its an automatic so i know its gotta come a fair way out of the box, but i don't seem to be havin any joy the sump catches on the rack! the box won't jack up any higher and the fookin thing wont come out!
Anyone done one of these as not sure about the way forward, there are 2 possibilaties as i can see. drop the rack down or take the box off any help greatly recieved

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
use a socket in where they starter motor sits and undo the 4 or maybe 3 bolts that hold the torque converter to the flywheel, once this is done engine should lift out easy, its best to do it this way as if you don't oil from the converter goes everywhere.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
If you are putting the same engine /gearbox back in, the Torque converter MUST BE put into the gearbox first, otherwise you will never line it up corectly and you will wreck the oilpump in the box.
When you refit the engine, measure how far the flex plate stands off the rear of the block and check that the Converter is at least the same distance in from the front of the gearbox.
As said, undo the torque converter from the engine flex plate to remove.
