Default craper tools

evrything they make breaks

just been tyding the garage and was amazed at the number of broken / useless craper tools i've got

some small sockets and one of them is too small for it's marked size and also the extension has twisted at the end - the ratchet is marked 'heavy chrome steel' - shite

a large hand held rechargeable torch which the battery clip has snapped of

stainless steel feeler gauges which have gone rusty

a small mains powered drill for polishing/ porting etc thats fucked -cost £25 at a car fair and craper tools told me they wouldn't replace it, i'd have to return it to the vendor for a replacement (been used for about 30 mins)

a 100w low voltage soldering gun - you know the one with the light that comes on when you press the trigger. this thing actually still works but i can't figure out why (and neither can craper tools) it says in the instruction leaflet supplied with it 'do not use the soldering gun for more than 15 seconds out of any 1 minute' . this is really silly cos it takes 7 seconds to supply enough heat to flow the solder for even a small joint leaving 8 productive seconds and enough time to make a cup of tea before you are allowed to use it again. craper tools' useless techie said 'oh well you will just have to follow the instructions!'

really, they are just absolutely fucking rubbish, they aren't even cheaper. the only good thing about them is cos they are always blue you can quickly and easily find them when you are getting rid of junk in the garage

Draper expert are a bit more bearable, but still not the best.

Clarke tools from machine mart are even worse!!!! may as well be made of chocolate

Halfords proffessional tools are very good for the money. I know a lot of mechanics (myself included) that use some and are very happy.

You only need one screwdriver if you buy from Snap On Get a ratcheting screwdriver and all the end bits are interchangeable for whatever you need!

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/pro_d...uk&dir=catalog

After buying one, I'll never use anything else

I fit windows and windscreens for a living so spend most of my time stripping car doors down etc and even with all the different types of screws (hex head, torx, flat, phillips #1 #2 #3 #4, pozidrive etc, I still only have one screwdriver in my tool box

But yeah, the only Draper I have is a little pick/scribe thingy, and only got that cos the Sealey ones I picked up at a show were all shit and snapped/blunted. Gotta replace em all again with a Snap On set when I get paid

True tho - Halfords Pro stuff is fooking good shit I have a 1/2 drive ratchet and socket set from them for last 5yrs and never let me down yet, and it's been thru some serious abuse! Top tools, not a lot of money

Snap On still the best tho
