Default Series 1/2 Hubs....

Are they the same? if not can anybody tell which ones these are as i'm after a pair of series 1 hubs.

AFAIK the only difference is on the drive flange. On the Mk3's the flange is sculptured around the wheel bolt holes. The Mk4 is circular. The hubs are effectively the same. S2 calipers bolt stright up to S1 hubs etc. HTH.

Both types [round and non-round] were fitted to Mk4 escorts....as far as I know S1/S2 hubs are the same.

Although...

I deffo would NOT recommend buying used/2nd hand hubs! I had no end of problems due to knackered hubs on my RST!!

The bearing surfaces wear and pit over time increasing the tolerances and allowing slop.....the disc mounting surface is suseptable to corrosion and damage [if the car has hit a ker etc..] which will cause havoc with your brakes [Especially if using big front discs]

I've just bought 2 new hubs for mine from Ford [think they were in the region of £180

Small differences in shape nothing major, they will fit either car ok
