Thing is tho, even tho they come off your licence after 4 years, you still have to tell your insurance company cause they want to know if you've had any convictions in the past 5 years.

That does suck and apparently it makes no difference

When i phoned greenlight they ran through what they had on file for me and it included a non fault crash in 1998! I asked the guy to take it off and he says no we'll just keep it

Hiya Chop,

Just to clarify, some Insurers request have you EVER had a claim or conviction. So we do tend to retain details upon our system in case we ever have to use one of these guys if they come good when quoting for your vehicle.

Most Insurers ask for claims/convictions either within 3 or 5 years and rate within this period.

Kind regards

Tony
