COMPRESSION TEST RESULTS
dosent look to good
160,158,159,73
filled suspect cylinder with oil and it went up to 138psi
strange thing is the car although well down on power is driving okay, not like running on three like i would have expected!
before i thought it was turbo problem, the turbo is still very quiet, not half as loud as it was before this happened?? i am confused
so it it likely a ring or the whole piston is fooked? what are my options??
the turbo being quiet.. is this fooked too...????
thanks
carl

Take the head off and see mate, no one can really advise you if its the piston the rings or a valve, although sounds less likely to be a valve if the result raised that much with oil, well unless you put a lot of it in!

just finding my feet
wont be holled mate as would be les comp than that
its either rings or cracked/shatterd piston,,,,,,, and ive seen a few of them that xrt-si has produced , "wasnt giving it large or anything, just started to use oil mate "
followed by
"rst's are long,,,,, they never seem to hold together"
then after we have fitted ANOTHER engine,,,,,,,, " si make sure you give it a few miles and check all is OK"
"yeah mate, course i would " ( starts to spin the car up on the spot then fucks off into a cloud of tyre smoke just like before)
my thoughts then.......... "same time next week si"

200ml, PMSL
Mate, a "wet" test is normally done with a teaspoon or so, not 200ml, lol
As for why a ring would go so quickly, could have been honed badly, or the gaps in the rings lined up wrong, or wrong ring end gap or many other engine building faults, impossible to comment without seeing it with the head off.
No point in you speculating, just take the head off.
