Everytime i start my car recently from cold i can here the tappets are bone dry and then after 2 seconds of running they stop being noisy. Is this right for a series 2 RST. I know that they are quite an old car now but its only started happening in the last few weeks, that ive noticed.

I know that the oil level is ok and that it will take a little time for it to be pumped up from the sump. I just wanna know if it could be a regular thing with the RST and if its doing any damage. Car drives fine once left ticking over for a bit and no oil light appears.

Any Advice????? Thanks in advance

Plus done a update on your sig so its now 24k so you can use it PF.

The Shell optimax Helix stuff. cant remember what grade it is. still got it at home (the can)

Btw I get the same from my tappets. Only for about 1 sec then it stops.
I just blame it on old tappets and the 15w 50 oil I am using.
I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.
