Default Last night I realized I drive an old shed

I mean just look at the lousy quality pics from my mobile phone.

Me and some friends cars...

Everone but me got big rear wings...

My taxi looks soo old.....

Love the lines of the Evo IX, silver makes it easier to see.

Im getting more convinced everyday that its time to move on from the Sapph.

Me thinks its time for a Escos , that wouldnt look sorry in the company of them japmobiles.

Yes ive always thought my Sapph looked quite good but when parked up with these cars I realized how wrong ive been. Cant understand what kept me blind for so many years.

Even stunning girl in shonky granada lined up beside me at the lights and gave it a go. Had to slap her on the fingers after giving her a few car lengths.

Evos are in another league and will do better than a scoob in every aspect... that's why you find a lot of scoob owners upgrading to an Evo

I know everyone goes on about how good the evo's handle.......BUT i personly bought the saff because of the way it handles......just love the fun of getting it sideways

For handleing i have got a fully blueprinted 2.0 16v mk1 golf on 15s and coilovers.......now thats FUN

Been in both the STI and the IX and cant stand the interior of the STI, IX is actually very nice inside.

Also, im not saying im converting to the jap lot, they just made me want an Escos even more.

Cossies are getting old and dated now... fact.

Having owned an Evo now for 6 months, I can see why people rate them so highly, I never thought I would ever be able to turn round and honestly say.... I prefer my Evo to the Escos, but I can and that's why my cossie will be up for sale after Nat Day. I have had a great 6 years owning it, but it's now time to move on.....

of course a sapphire is gona look old and shonky compared to them, its about 12 yrs older.

i know what i'd rather choose. old school cool

my car history goes like this.......saph cos 4x4, sold it for an impreza, sold that for an Evo 8 FQ 300, then sold that and bought another saph cos 4x4 beacause i missed my old one!!!!

Evo's and impreza's are nice cars but u cant beat the character and appeal of the cosworth, hence my reason for going back to one!!

To me an evo or impreza is simply a fast car, whereas a cosworth is more of a hobby.......stick with the cossy mate!!!

I dunno. its obvious you gotta accept that EVOs are newer superior cars.

BUT there is Definitly something about the old school cool of cossies that
keeps drawing people back!
I know i love it lol

An Evo 2 didn't come out until 1994 and yes at that time I would have chosen an Escos as the Evo technology hadn't evolved to what it is now.

Escos would look tired next to them lot, so would any non 1998+ car. Old headlights etc. Saph on its own, looks immense. Don't let sharp lines and xenon headlights make you think your car is shit. Remember ford haven't made anything to compete with these, if they did, it wouldn't look old. (obviously)

Dint say a evo came out before 1994 all im saying is that people always compare a evo to a cosworth which meens that cosworth made something very special as up till the evo 5 they was not a patch on a cosworth .Cosworth was then 10 years old to compare this to a cosworth is a bit of a unfair match

This old chestnut. My old shed looks dated next to my mates 96 Impreza but in my opinion is much more of a fun car. The scoob is good, fast etc. Evo's rock, driven a fair few through work and they are nice but are a hell of a lot newer than a shonky saff.
That to me is the fun part though, shonky, falls to bits, leaks oil, but I love it My weekends aren't my own like, always fixing something. But hey thats the joy of an old ford

I agree with the likes of lynne in the sense they have kinda had their day now...until they start getting very rare and very old then it will be nice to own one again....kinda like old skool fords...mk1/2 rs2k's etc...id own an immaculate mk1 mex over ANY evo any day....but at the mo id own an evo over any cossie i reckon...even though the evo doesnt look as nice as a 3 door/escos

The cosworth YB engine is one of the finest engines ever built, that cannot be denied. It's the rest of the car that lacks so much now compared to newer technology which comes as standard on the likes of newer Evos and Scoobs.

On an Evo it's very easy and cheap to attain 360-380bhp just with a reflash of the ecu, decatted exhaust and uprated fuel pump, all on standard internals with standard clutch and standard gearbox as they are able to withstand the extra power/torque.

I was driving through Blackpool in an escos today, nobody looked twice at it.

They probably thought, look at that idiot in that chavvy car, rev head boy racer.

Times are changing peeps, however much fun they are to drive, they are not a crowd pleaser any more copaired to all the new technologies out ther, Evo, AMG mercs, M5 etc............
