Er you might want to do the research into all that before looking at the animals

Too many people jump into dog ownership without any consideration as to what is actually involved. Worst thing we did as a country was get rid of the dog lisence

Fair enoughski mate. Seeing as our place has become a bit of a rescue place for unwanted pets I get shirty about people not going into pet ownership with proper consideration.

Thats understandable mate i was the same with the animals i used to sell. woulndt sell them unless the people new what they were talking about, and had the proper equipment to keep the in. Theres a lot more to keeping reptiles than people think. you'd be supprised at how many people think they can keep a Boa in a 3ft fish tank now matter how big it was.

right ive just bought 12 cans ot tinned meat from asda £4.70 so 39p per tin per day.
Plus you might want the mixer £6.00 a bag so at least 3 of them a month.

39p x 30 days=£11.70
plus 3x mixer=£18.00

total=£30 a month(thereabouts)

Our insurance for the Rottie pup =£13.00 a month.

Injection cost us about £50 for all puppy inoculations for one year.
Leads x1 =£6.00
beds x 3=£30.00 (old duvets from kids beds,we renewed thiers then)
collars x 3=£9.00
flea controlx 3=£6.00

Grand total as we stand to date =£617 per year approx

id say about £700 a year would cover it to be honest, well worth the money if you love them

Well you've got the buying of the doggy in the first place! Unless your going to a rescue home! Then its always nice to make a donation

I've got a shepard!

He can get through 2 x cans a day or more if his pekish
I buy complete biscuit also, but I go to the big suppliers for that and buy it in bulk, much easier then tesco's or alike, cheaper also and 95% of the time he loves it

Insurance his with Tesco's £13 a month covers him for everything and his had a few op's etc now and each time only costs me £60 which is of course the excess

You can never really judge on an amount a dog is going to cost you!
Toys, balls (mins forever munching his way through them ), blankets, pillows, leads, collars, harness etc etc etc.

You'll see something and think arrhh I'll just get that

Dogs are bottomless pits but worth every fooking penny
Love mine to bits

xxx

Springers are the most energetic dog ive seen,

a 15kg sack of dog food biscuit will cost about £20 from a farming type outlet which would easily last a month for one dog if not more.

Injections are about £30 a year, never bothered with insurance, although over the last few years it would probably have paid for itself as probably paid about £2k in operations, although my family have had dogs for 30 years and none have never needed a op soo i guess it's just one of those things.

The big expense will be if it has an expensive taste for shoes & furniture!

My bullmastiff vin costs me around £20 a week in food alone

Insurance £17/month

On his 4th leather collar (around £40 each) because his neck keeps growing

And he cost £1200 as a pup because of the pedigree. Overall has cost an absolute shitload but wouldn't trade it for the world, wicked dog

my old GSD was destroyed last month buyt has to be said pet insurance is a fucking must

my dog had eplepsy and fuck me that cost,,,,, 75 quid a months for is mediation cause i never had insurance so then igot insurance and about a year later he killed a neighbours dog and so the insurance payed out on that,,,, fucking shame they charged me 200 quid excess, so just like car insurance check the excess details and sometimes things like this happen

as for food i used iams which cost i think 30 quid a month but he wsas a fussy eater adn so could keep that in his bowl and he could eat when he liked,,,, also aitn a paind to clean the old meat off too as that was a fucking mare

as for collars,,,,,,, my little baby hada louis vitton dog collor,,,,,,, 125 quid and you couldnt even see the fooker due to his long white hair

hes lead i got a policce/army training lead which i think was about 50quid or around that,,,,,, but that was the best thing i ever bought as i NEVER neeed a new one and it NEVER stretched either ( my gsd wighed in at 54 kilos so he wa a big cunt)

the main thing to think of mate is holidays ect, you cant go out on the piss and hope he will be fine and you are always tied down when you own a dog, not like a goldfish or a snake that can go without food for 3 weeks, a do needs feeding and s just like a child, needs attention ect

i personally wont be gettign another dog,, just cause of the WORST thing about owning a sdog is making that desision to get him destryed,, itsfucking awfull and i NEVER wanna go through that again EVER

i used to get noghtmares and also got dreams that i never got him destroyed and it really dod feel shite in the morning when you realise he ISNT there

also you may wanna look at the dogs temperment, staffs seem to be the worst and take alot of time befoe they settle down,,, some never either and that can be embarresing/anoyng when you got a dog that wont listen to ya

size of dog is also a consideration too,,,,,,,, my GSD was too big for my flat so had to leave him at my parents house yet a mate of mine has a yorkshire terrier small toy size one and im forever standing of the little shite,,, hes just TOO small

in a nut shell i dont thinkl dogs cost that much that you activly notice there costing you cash and they do give alot of rewards for it too so they are PERFECT pets

unlike fucking cats,,,,,,,,, im gonna buy a cat but fuck me there crap pets

Sister goes through a bag of that a fortnight for her New Foundland. then the frozen chicken on top of that.

insurance is £25/month

All in I would say it costs them about £100/month.

But, as others have said, they wouldnt be without him.

Totally agree, makes my blood boil when idiots get pets on a whim and dump them soon afterwards.

cant get pit bulls anymore i thought ove here as my mate had to get his bollocks chopped when they had a spate of biting people,,,,,,,, ironic that hes dog had the most laid back temperment so technically he would have been the best option to breed from

but there fucking tails are like whips,,,, the fucking marks that dog used to make on my leg
