In case no one has noticed the statement made by ''Shannon'' was i'd rather have a FORD than an Evo 
Now correct me if i am wrong but nowhere in those words does it state '' i'd rather have a front wheel drive Ford or Modded Front wheel drive RST or Fiesta or anything such like.
The statemate was that that person in THEIR OWN opinion prefers a Ford than an Evo which am pretty sure they are entitled to do.
I have been in an Evo with 'AndyR'(and hopefully will be again at National Day)was very very impressed with it,however given the chance i personally would still rather have a Ford too!
Evo's will blow the very very large majority of RST'S however i do remember seeing a video clip of Christian smoking one at Brunters in his RST(sorry going past with ease shall we say
)although this is a small exception to the case!

Unfortunately or fortunately i dont have the time to be fucking about with Fords that can be unreliable and i can afford to run my car i was having mine rebuilt but never in the end and bloody glad i didnt finish my series 2

Well take a look at when i joined this site and re-read what i said i was having my series 2 rebuilt after blowing an engine and in the process made quite a few friends on here and still have a huge passion for fords and will probably own one again very soon, thats why i am still here

The point is that even though NO ONE has mentioned Front wheel drive RST's everyone has jumped on saying that an FQ Evo will smoke an RST even though Shannon actually said ''I'd Rather have a FORD than an Evo'' which you would probably expect being on a Ford related website.
And am sure that covers a hell of alot of Fords that would smoke an FQ all round!

Yes they i know that they work together,and was kind of suspecting that the Evo would be OFF in the corners,however how would the Evo compare in the corners with say Reylands Escort or any the AM Sport Escorts,as remember they are Fords and that is how the discussion was started?
Although most of the people that have come on are just going on and on about an FQ smoking a RST????????

I dont think there is much point comparing a standard Evo to a heavily modified ford and drawing any conculsion.
Its a better basis for a car with better suspension technology etc, and VERY VERY few people on here are ever going to own something like Martins that competes with them in that sense, and NO ONE on here will be doing so for the sort of money you can buy an FQ evo for!
I personally would sooner have my 3door than an evo, (and its only a replica, lol).
but NOT cause it competes with one for handling etc, just purely cause everytime i open the garage door and bring it out, it makes me smile cause ive always wanted a car just like the one i have now.

I agree that the thread has been takern down the wrong road, but if you are complaining about people comparing and FQ Evo against a highly modded rst the comparing a standard FQ against Martins Escort is also not right now to compare Simon Norris Evo to Martins would be fairer

My mate has an FQ400 and thats rapido although you do have to drive it like a hooligan to keep it on song!!!!
Think the FQ400 is a bit more than a big turbo and Unichip as someone wrote earliar? Doesnt it have a full Motec system and sorted engine?
Although at £45K+ its an expensive car. Mind you the 3 year warranty is good if you drive it like a hooligan!!!! Think my mates on his 3rd set of discs in a year already!!!

Would have Reylands Escort/AM Sport Escorts/Stians etc etc over the Norris Designs Evo anyday though(no disrepect to Norris Designs by the way) Just my personal opinion
(PS Has anyone got the full video of the race between Christian and the EVO by the way,would be much appreciated as i want to see it in full now )

Regarding the Evo vs RST thing. The full vid is on Streetfire. I have nothing to hide.
The fact is, Gary and I braked at different rates, he passed me on the corner and was off. However, I think it could be said that I was hardly gunning it after the bend, having just ragged the poor thing senseless down the straight and if I had known that the 'race' was continuing further, I might have put up a fight!!
Also, for the record, Gary's Evo was FAR FAR from standard in that vid.
