Default £500 car

want a quick car to fuck around in, not daily driver, have 500 to spend

been offered a 16v gti jetta mk2, got alloys, exhaust, induction kit, lowered, is quite quick and im all set to buy it, unless something else comes up....

so, suggestions please.

a 16v jetta is well rare IIRC, id get it and sell it, im SURE they worth more than that!

not seen a 16v one for years...

i do like jettas tho

Indeed. Mk2 jetta gti's are like rocking horse shit. If someone offered me one for 500 quid i'd buy it do it up and flog it for a tidy profit.

Actually, i'd probably keep it as I love jetta's

that was my plan, run it around for a bit then flog it for a grand, or keep it.

Jetta gti's are a rare thing, the 16v variant even rarer there quite a lump cheaper to insure than golf gti's aswell

Iam actually in the same boat. Just sold my 325 BMW and fancy just a quickish run about. Heard there is a 205 GTi 1.9 with a years tax and mot just trying to get the guys number.
Otherwise a standard Renault 5 turbo sounds tempting. As does a mk2 Astra GTE.

Jetta sounds alright though

i believe its an F reg so thats not 1990 i dont think ?

Nah wont be a 90 spec big bumpers etc on an f reg, still a cheap mota tho and there is loads of stuff out there for them as there just a long arse golf
