Ford Fair - car thefts
Was just given a link to a thread on SN http://bbs.scoobynet.com/spec-c-nicked-t534721.html where a Spec C was lifted from WRC and a Classic was stolen from Ford Fair.

the only way to sotp it now is to give everyone a ticket coming in and out with the car reg on it and the number of occupants
the same way as they have been tkaing pics of the cars coming in there should be someone taking pics of the cars as they are going out, that'll at least tell youwhat time a potential theif has taken it and what they look like
with that sort of info up on the net you'd soon have a name to put to a face to put through a brick wall

Thats crap!
I can say I was paranoid about mine, but as I had me lad with me, I kept his sandwiches and drinks in the coolbox in the car so had a good excuse to go back to the car a couple of times.

why is it that they are just stealling Evos and Scoobys??/
Surely an old cossie will be far easier to get into and if its a properly specced car then will be worth as much or more in parts??
these guys obv arent opportunist theifs so they would only steal the best cossies

make all the car parks pay and display type affairs
you put your reg into the machine as you go in and keep the card with you
when you go out, there's a bod at the security hut who opens the gate when he sees the pass with the right number on it
not exactly foolproof but it's a damn sight better than having your motor nicked
how many cars went missing at last years ford fair.......................

stolen to order and shipped abroad, theres alot of demand for the highpowered jap stuff, big money and easy to cover up stolen status once sold on ( out of the UK )

anyway, it owuld put the onus on the events management to sort out a better way to get the cars in to the site quicker, so it's all good whatever way you look at it
it's the same as getting your ticket torn at the gates, you simply have a machine that prints out your numberplate and gives you a bit of paper to show you what time you got in as you are driving past, won't tkae THAT much time and if they open up a seperate gate for those peole who are turning up to go through the gates as padestrians and those who are coming infirled that makes things half the hassle
