Central London Hotels?
Right, never stayed in London so no idea here.
Anyone know of any Hotels worth staying at (not uber-pricey, but no dive) in central london on a sat night? W1V postcode is where we will be, so somewhere near by.
Will be shitfaced and going back to hotel 2am or later i expect, so dunno if its best to get somewhere within walking distance, or get a taxi?
Also ideally need to bail out of london (via car) at 10.30am or so sunday morning, heading north, so somewhere not too shabby for thatd prob help.
Whats the best bet? Stay a while a way and taxi in n back, or somewhere dead close?
Ive no clue, hopefully someone else has

Stay somewhere else and get a black cab mate. As long as you stay within a 5-7 mile radius of W1 you'll be fine and won't get striped on the cab.
W1 is Westminster and the surrounding areas - hotels are stupid expensive. I'd try out West a tad, not too far. Loads of hotels in Kensington along by the Natural History Museum et al and 10 mins in a cab. Thats about a tenner or so.

Easiest way mate - find a hotels website and get something within say a 5 - 7 mile radius of Buckingham Palace. Thats fine. Cabs will be a tenner each way and you're not miles from anywhere. During the day use the tube - you won't be far from a station at all no matter where you go within that radius.

Congestion charge is from 7am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday Steve.
Parking is a bastard, mainly residents only and fuck me it's expensive so if you don't have to drive - I wouldn't. NCP ? Ł35 a day (average). Everything is really 'close' here - everyone thinks that everything is miles away from each other ie. Buck Palace, Houses of Parliament, London Eye etc. They're pissing distance.

Well we will be bowling down to the hotel for 6ish Saturday I guess, and be away again at 10.30ish Sunday.
Literally will be going to one place and staying there all night I think.
Ill have to make sure hotel has a carpark or summat.
As taxis arnt too expensive and parking sounds a pain you prob right about being as far away as possible.

I stayed in Bayswater, right by the tube station opposite Kensington gardens. The Hotel was excellent for the moeny and it couldnt have more more convinent location wise.
The place was called: "Hyde Park Towers Hotel" and was Ł50 a night for a double room including contiental breakfast for two That was booked through lastminute.com as it was a bargin. Id try there mate
