So an MR2 couldn't get past, and no that wasn't because I blocked it at the bends, so what it obviously wasn't a turbo, and?

Be mad to risk ruining the cossie on track, the scooby gearbox is already failing and I need that to get to work in, so a 350 quid car perfect, I haven't got money to burn unfortunately, fact is I had a go and enjoyed it, thats all that matters.

I know your all jealous of my mighty monty beast really

It wasn't an actual 'track' was RAF Marham laid out 'track' for a charity track session as said. Don't think the airforce agree to hire out for top speed events. Was a better surface than the 'track' they laid out at Bruntingthorpe for the French Car Show
Marham? I take it you took a 700m run up thru the fields and another field trip thru the barbed wire fense to slow down again?

Thats only time youd manage 2.5miles on the 1.7mile Marham main runway

Glorify it? I'm just saying how well a crappy old Montego did for a cheap track car, can't help being impressed for my first real 'track' experience, just everyone seems hell bent in shooting me down for some reason

The aircraft taxiway, which connects the two ends of the runway, is a similar width and surface, and provides a further two and a half miles of uninterrupted tarmac
I don't fucking know which bit of track I was on at the tim (always a great thing for track driving eh), it wa a long straight! I just assumed it'd take 2 and a half miles for it to reach any kind of speed

They're doing another one beginning of September http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/t...4947&f=121&h=0
maybe someone could volunteer their expertise and give me some instruction...
