Default small workshop, planning permission required?

I'm looking to replace our exisiting stone shed approx 5ft x 6ft deep 6 feet high with a new shed measuring 8ft high x 8ft wide and 8ft deep.

Just going to build it out of breeze block and render it. Planning a tiled lean too roof.

Any idea if I'd need planning permission?

thanks,
steven

Probably as it's a permanent structure. Make it out of wood and you dont need one.

As above - if it's a permanent structure then yes - but if you use the original footprint of the first building there are some exemptions IIRC but don't know what they are...............but seeing as yours is bigger and permanent - yes.

depends on local rules, If it is behind your building line may be ok, I had the council in to check, could build anything behind the house less than 3m high but if I went over 30sqr m floor area needed building regs, but still no planning permission so I built 2 garages at 30sqr m each to avoid drawings etc required for building regs, so advise from me is just to ring the council you may be lucky.
