I've seen a BD14 inlet cam where the centre head bolt's washer didn't clear the cam, meaning that the cam had to be loosened before the head bolt could be fitted.
There is a machined area in the middle of the cam, between cylinders 2 and 3, in line with the central head bolt, and in this case it was slightly larger diameter than standard.

i found it an absolute cunt to find a socket that fitted down the poxy hole thats cast into the head, FFS they could have made it a bit bigger could they not?!
