Open the window usually..

But can become tedious with wind blowing you from arsehole to breakfast.

Aircon I would have if I could have the choice on my FRST, but petrol consumption is extreme enough as it is

they done a test recently.

put the same amount of petrol in the same car.
one of them turned the air con on. and the other opened the windows.

both drove round the track at the same speed. the one with air con actually went further!

ive never had air con or a convertable. but if i wanted a convertable i wouldnt let it not having air con stop me buying it.

its not really that simple

a convertible, is a different drive altogether

for example, i have air-con in my saff, but would i want a convertible saff, no thanks

petrol consumption not really an issue with air con as it uses very little.

what cars did you have in mind???

i love convertibles cos of the exposure, but you do look like a tit driving one, its unavoidable.

Always rather have a convertable than a tintop with aircon! (unless its a family car)

Convertables WITH aircon are the way forward

must admit though the reason ive got the roof down this yeah is my little girl loves it,,,,,,,,, also means she has to sit in the front so shes not blinded at 90 by the wind flowing in the back seat,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, thats the issue my missus has instead

Deffo Aircon. Espeically for city driving etc as your stuck in traffic etc.

But isnt aircon convertibles a waste? As all the cold air just floats away Didnt see the point of it in the ones i have been in etc.

rhys i think its more due to the point that the poor thing is trying to condition too large a space,,,,,,,,, even on cars you need the windows up to do the job proper so having the roof down,,,,,, well

Aircon all the way. You've gotta love freezing yourself in the car only to get out and it to feel like you're in an oven.

Air con all day everyday, even the winter

Convertables with air con, just point it at your feet and you feel a cool breeze come up your body.

But if i was ginger i wouldnt embarrass myself by having the roof down

A car with aircon i think. But it sups juice, so just wind the window down. I'm not into convertibles at all.

2 of my cars have aircon, and I practically use it all the time. It doesn't affect fuel consumption at all (I have tried it)

And a convertible would mess my hair up

poppycock and twaddle

driving on a motorway at 70+ mph with a window down doesn't use extra fuel from the drag created at all, does it?

it probably wouldn't work very well now, even if you tried rich. try reading the manual, it should tell you to use the a/c regularly, even in winter, as it keeps the seal lubricated and supple. if not used, the seals can dry up and shrink and let the gas escape, particularly the compressor shaft seal. if you then run a system that is low on gas, you can damage the compressor

I was blasting down the motorways last night at big speeds and then had a blast down the lanes. It was a JOY! I honestly could not have had more fun on the roads, was such a pleasure!

The people that say no to convertables is because they haven't driven a proper one

Makes me wonder why the hell I'm looking at another new car at the weekend to be honest. Last nights drive was PERFECT! I even recorded the car screaming its tits off through the Dartford tunnel on the way home. It sounded so good it gave me a little semi

Quick Reply: what do you prefer,,,,, cabrio or a car with aircon ???
