Default Help! 106 GTi emissions fail, MOT!

Brothers 106 GTi has failed mot on emissions. I dont think its possible to adjust it manually being totally controlled by the ecu.
Its only a tiny, tiny bit above passing. Personaly I dont think they had it up to temperature when they tested it.
Anyway, is there anything I can do just to bring it down a bit to make sure it goes through?

That should work

What was high?

Set of plugs and an air filter wouldn't hurt

Has your lambda sensor failed? They are very prone to it as are the Saxo VTS.
Is it running roughly? Sometimes it takes a while before it logs a fault on the dash light......................speaking from experience here

I think CO level 0.32 at idle and also slightly high at fast idle.

Had plugs in a service just before he bought it a couple of months ago. Dont suppose a new set would hurt just to be sure.

Just remembered its got a K&N on. Maybe something to do with that...?

urm, try plugging it in see if theres any codes if you know a mechanic with a machine?

try a fuel filter maybe? 02 senser? does it have a cat fitted? [could the last owner have hammered it out?]

Holding it on the rev limiter does work though!
