Default Sky TV Link help please??? Any Sky/TV engineers on here?

OK i have a sky tv link and have done for about for years now but it seems to have packed up.

do any of u know how 2 test 2 see if its workin?

i need 2 test the following :-

1) how do i find out if the RF2 setting is switched on on the sky box?

2) when the RF2 thing is selected how much voltage should b coming out of the end of the coax?

3) is the any way of testing the remote eye to see if it powers up ie puting some voltage down it to see if it lights up?

Did it come with instructions ?

There is a hidden menu on the sky box that you need to enable the 2nd rf socket.

Think you go in to the setup menu and press 0 0 1 and select.

what I do is connect it to the back of the sky box and it should light up. It is one way only though so think about it. To get to the rf2 menu go to the set up menu and then put in 01 select and it should bring up the hidden menu

Can test the power coming down coax easy un plug the remote eye and stick ya tongue on the end of the coax its only 9volts so you should get a little tingle if you prefer use a multimeter lol no seriously use a multi meter on the end of the coax to see if your getting the 9 volts there outter should be neg inner pos if i remember right.

Installers menu is

services
4
0 1 select

then rf outlets option 4

try plugging the eye into the back of the digi box and see if the red light comes up if it does and you have no power at the other endo of the coax try redoing the ends of the cable but make sure you dont get any of the outer brade on the inner core and make sure the connections are good and as long as the eye is working it should power up again.

If you have a red light and still nothing try new batteries in the handset first just incase before you go getting a new eye
