Very nice, are you going to go for M3 arches and stuff or leave it as a sleeper?

Leaving it sleeper-ish

Black kidney grill,
Black headlight surrounds
Smoked front and side indicators
17x8.5" BBS wheels
M3 rear spoiler

Possibly some bonnet louvres, not sure yet about them tho

why not?

If you've ever driven a well sorted handelling E30 325i or E30 M3, then you will know they need a bit more poke, but they handle beautifully

Jules - If you do decide to go down this route, and get started with it, I'll pop down with mine one day so you can have a look and see whats involved

I'm seriously looking forward to getting it started - the ONLY thing thats stopping me from starting the car is a 2wd cossie oil cooler, but thats on its way

Paul - I am imressed pal! Said it before to you how I am impressed with your attitude and approach to modifying stuff, how you aren't afraid to just dive in and if there isn't a part that will fit, you aren't afraid to simply have a go at fabricating one up - I respect that a lot!

I can't wait to see your finished project, and well done on a great, and FAST, project!

Didn't expect anything less from you Paul. I quote something Chip once said to me: "Gracie is a shit hot mechanic", and boy, he wasn't wrong!

Start my new job in Mirfield next Monday, would lvoe to drop by after work one night to have a look at it if that's ok?

Well done mate, seriously pleased for you, and very very jealous!

Couple of questions for you mate
What is the best shell/model to start with or doesn't it matter? I see yours is a 320i is there any benefit in getting a 325i etc...to start with?
Also what ratio is the diff you are using??
Cheers Spadge...

JHW - I did part of my apprenticeship there

Jay - we'll sort something soon, but working next week.

Jules - I started with a rot-free shell, the best way to start

If you want it to be a pretty straight forward conversion, start with a 325, as it has rear discs, altho swapping wishbones only takes 30 mins a side

I'm using an E30 M3 Evo slipp diff - has a ratio of 3.25:1 Nice top speed , but if you start with say, a 325i sport, then you have all the bodykit, front and rear discs, m-tech suspension, recaro interior and a slip diff too (not sure what ratio on the sports tho)

But essentially, the basis is to start with a rot free shell, a bit on the arches at the back isn;'t a problem, but providing the sills, chassis legs, rear inner arches, sunroof panel, and tail-light panel are rust free then you are onto a winner
