Not only is it fucking hot, but my big fan has just broke, so im completley fucked

It was reading 34degC in the shade and 45degC in the sun in our back garden today, and its even fookin hotter in the house

I went into the kitchen 10mins ago to get a drink, turned the light on and was attacked by about 50 big fat moths fluttering around my face like the spastics of the insect world that they are

Been trying to sleep for 2hrs now, no chance now the fans just died

Closest I got to that here is the 2foot dia' fan thta just died

Might go get in the Mondeo and put on the aircon n sleep in that

The position of my room means that two of it's three exposed walls will catch the sun for the ENTIRE day Which means in this weather it is constantly 30deg plus in my room. Couple to that the fact that the how water pipes run under my floorboards, and the boiler is only on the other side of the wall - you might appreciate how insanely hot it gets in my room.

Sure I got a big fan - but all that does is move the already hot air around!

I can't open the window for 2 reasons. 1) bugs come in and bite the shit out of me 2) with my luck it will piss down over night, and for some reason to do with the way my window faces, EVERY time it rains it comes in my window (if open) and everything on my desk and under it gets wet (including expensive computers and monitors)

So I'm screwed, and am seriously considering putting in a proper air con unit - proper bolt on the wall jobbie with the box outside etc - not the gay little portable ones that you have to run an exhaust out the window - what the point of them? YOu cool the room down only for all the cool air to escape out the window you have to have open in order to have the exhaust poking outside it!!!!

I keep the curtains shut in the bedroom and the window to try and stop it heating up.

Last night though, fook me, I thought I was never going to get to sleep.

But I jumped in the shower for a couple of mins and it made a massive difference.

in germany, you could buy a fine mesh for the windows to keep the flies out. comes with sticky backed velcro hooks to put on the frame, and then the mesh hooks onto it. allows the breeze through, but keeps the flies out

Portable aircon units are the way forward IMO.

They are slightly noisy but I'd rather there bit a bit of noise than boiling myself in a pool of my own sweat.

we left it there when we moved and BOY do we suffer in the office now

i'm seriously thinking of going to one of them retial outlet palces and buying a hooj fuck off ac unit and put the vent into the kitchen sink

due to the fact that i fan myself with some of the wads of 50 pound notes i sleep on...

then after 10 mins I drop off to sleep everytime.

My bro was saying how he has got a "water cooler" type thing, that is bassically a fan with a fabric "belt" that rotates, getting soaked with cold water and passes in front of the fan. It doesn't so much blow water out, but the air is blown over this fabric, and the water cools the air...

Can't find any info on the net tho
