Righty then, Me and Co are off to Bournemouth for the weekend on Friday. Does anyone know of any good places to go on friday or Saturday night? So far we've been recommended to the Opera House, which on a sat promotes 'The Cheese Factory'!!

Anybody got any ideas to make our weekend a blinder

The opra house is in boscombe so if you are staying in b'mouth you will need taxis, its also quite pricy at Ł3.50 a bottle, cant remeber if they do pints.

also its full of pill heads

and is was trance music when i went drives you insane after 10 mins....

there are lots of good pubs in b'mouth and also a club called berlins that aint tooooooo bad, well, i pulled there anyway lol

Cheers Dude! The opera house have a weird entry/drinks system on a sat when you pay a set price for entry, either 10, 20 , or 30 quid and you get free drinks and access to different areas depending on how much you paid to get in ...according to their website anyway lol!

Not a fan of trance, i'd get the arse after 10mins to lol

Could do with somewhere that plays good funky house that we can to all night!

Theres quite a few bars in Boscombe so you can set yourself up for the Opera House, not been to the main town of Bournemouth of a night time but my mate who lives there assures me they've got some good bars up there

Quality! so long as theres plenty to do! havent been for YEARS and didnt want to get there and its dead and nowt to do! But if theres plenty of life then maybe we'll check out ALL the bars instead but would like to maybe check out a club, just dont want to end up in a shithole

Dont go to the opera house-at all costs-it's sh1te.

I live in Bournemouth so can tell you about all the decent places to go.

Elements is the busiet club by far-I was in the VIP room last saturday and it was full of strippers and football players-Peter Crouch was buying us drinks all night-top man. You might be able to blag VIP call Steve Hudson he's the general manager and tell him your coming down for the weekend and he should be able to sort you out-01202 311178

Bliss and toko are both good bars and nearby to Elements too.


Or you could go to the more trendy part of town, where there are numerous bars/clubs playing funky house. Try Bar So, Klute, Edwards, Tsar Bar and the K-bar, all very friendly and full of hot girlies

But what ever you do dont go to the opera house.

Well I go there just for the music, never seen a fight there, yes there are pill heads there but they don't tend to give you trouble, most of them that you bump into throw their arms round you as if they're your best mate

True about pillheads being no bother, but as its a cab ride away from where we're staying i think we'll go into town, walking/crawling distance an all that!!

i'd recommend k bar, toko, bliss, elements all the bars and clubs are real close together (find the "obscura cafe" in the middle of town (it's in the square) and then just wonder) you're gauranteed a good night out if you try these bars.

also you wanna go up old christchurch road from the obscura cafe (when you find it) and to the left is a slip road which is also pedestrianised (sp) go up there and there's a milkshake shop which make milkshakes with anything you want in it. hmm gorgeous. you must find it!!!!

We're staying at the Bournemouth International Hotel, priory road, west cliff.. wherever the fook that is says its less than 1km to town centre though!

I honestly thought Bournemouth was still a bit of an old granny/retiremnet area, sounds like its picked up a lot since i was last there

Daveyboy I heard that too-but it all changed when me and my mates moved in and took over! No joke, I think bournemouthis only second to london for having the most bars per square mile .

TemptRS-if thats you in your signiture if you ever want anyone to share a shakeaway with or fancy a bit of skinny dipping(i only live about a minute from the beach) give me a shout

Was at uni for 4 years in Bournemouth and its by far the best night out I know of in the UK! Elements is cool, Saturday nights is or at least was over 21's. Circo is a good bar next to it. Depending on your company, For Yours Only or Jezzabells could be worth a trip.

There are the usual chain pubs/bars e.g Slug and Lettuce/O'Neills/Litten Tree etc.

If you can find a student, the old Firestation on Holdenhurst road is good for the ladies but you have to be signed in. Head for Old Christchurch Road which goes down a hill. Few pubs on there, at the bottom is a roundabout, left there and you can see Elements, straight on takes you down the main high street past more pubs and on in to a square at the bottom with more there.

You will have a top night and the only one I would avoid is the one next to Elements on the opposite side of circo which has no dress code, you go downstairs to get in. Rough as!

Well Cola and I are back and still in one piece

Info proved very usefull... especially the milkshake shop... THAT ROCKED! we even went back the next day they were that good!

Weather was REALLY good on saturday, spent most of the day in bars

We found all the clubs but didnt actually make it in any of them (it had been a LONG day we did hit quite a few of the bars though... dont ask me what they were cos i had enough trouble remembering them even whilst i was still in em

Bournemouth definately isnt the old retirement resort i remember it as, it was heaving all weekend. I'd recomend a weekend there to anyone!
