Default twin carbs

im doin a 2.0l zetec conversion on my escort gti and want to know which carbs would be best to use the engine will have a cam kit and vernier pulleys am i best with 40s or 45s please help

better off using throttle bodies

45's would probably be best, as higher up the rev range when the 16v starts to take off they will be able to give better fuel delivery where as the 40's may feel like they are strangling it high up

YOU CANT USE CARBS ON IT MATE

it will fail mots miserably on emmissions and kill the cat very quickly.

you NEED throttle bodies - end of.

obviously you can use them on cars that dont have as strict emmissions tests but not on anything made after 1992.

i have got a set of suzuki GSXR throttle bodies that im gonna fit to my 2.0l zetec,. they need a fair bit of work to get them on tho.

and aslo with t/bs you will need after market management to get rid of the mas air flow sensor.

my mate has a set of GSXR t/bs for sale, £80

cheers anyway mate but it will be decatted and ive already sorted a 2d module to plug straight in so carbs it is as 4 the mot my mates a tester
so all i need to do is a vote 40s or 45s

well, with 40's less bhp but more low down torque

45's more bhp at max revs but less torque

My mate has a 16i on a 2.0 zetec with 45's and it is superb.
