Default Best player in the world at the minute?

I personally would rather have Rooney in my team than any other player in the world including Ronaldinho
England looked so dangerous tonight with him , fitness showed through in the 2nd half which you would expect which incidently was when England were put on the back foot
He is so dangerous anywhere in the oppo half, Ronaldinho just drifts in and out of games
Sure some peeps will have other ideas so heres a poll

Out of the ones you have listed, Rooney is the most dangerous, with a good ball in he ALWAYS gets the shot on target. Can't wait to see him when he isn't worried about getting stuck in. 'Play anywhere-Gerrard' is a force to be reckoned with, always in the right place at the right time. The rest don't seem powerful enough, very light 'whispey' players that go down for a tap on the leg.

All the players listed are great footballers, but ive got to go for stevie, not because im a liverpool fan, but because stevie does the same job in any position he plays, ive seen him play, right back, left back, centre midfeild, right wing and upfront for liverpool, and he was outstanding in every position, a lot of the players listed are possiblly the best in the world in the position they play, but you ask ronaldinho or shevchenko to play right back and see how they play, stevie is not a one dimentional player, he has a lot of strings to his bow.

Rooney on present form?

Are you having a laugh?

I reckon he is one of the greatest players in the world, but one current form, there's plenty above him

Errr.........

You have missed out some class players

I would rather have requilme, henry & terry ahead of schevchenko, torres and eto any day

Difficult to judge also as different palyers give different qualitys

Best to watch - Ronaldinho

All rounder - Gerrard

Wayne Rooney for me, not just for his ability to shoot with his left foot, his right foot and his head which a lot of the other suggestions cannot do, but for his presence and determination on the field

Best all rounder for me is Gerrard and im a QPR fan

Before the World Cup started I would have said Terry was the best defender in world football by a mile, but he has showed some weakness in the world cup , most noteably swinging his boot at the ball like sunday league players do
Yeah I forgot Henry as well I know, but I cant seem to edit it

Rooney: terrorises defences, he's is direct and very strong, can be skillful at times. However, he can be inconsistant now and again and sometimes misses good opportunities, looses his temper very quickly and hasn't got much of a left foot.

Ronaldinho: an absolute showman with great strength, but there it stop's! He can probably do any trick you name with a ball, but how many of those trick's are useful on the pitch during a game - a select few. He can't defend for love nor money and is very lazy in regards to getting back and helping out. In my opinion he's a bit too greedy and tries to orchastrate too much. Still, I'd have him in my team any day.

Gerrard: No one can touch Gerrard in my opinion, he is a complete player, the others are not. Stick him anywhere on the field and he'll fool you into believing it's his natural position. He can play effectively with both feet and find that defence splitting pass that the likes of Rooney loves, can score from anywhere on the pitch, has unbelievable passing range and is good in terms of aerial ability - true all rounder and there seriously is no limit to his footballing talent's in my opinion.
