How many miles was it exactly on the way back BTW Rob?
So i calculate that like this:
Ł26.80 buys you 30.112 litres of Shell Optimax fuel at 0.89p per litre.
That means you travelled an average of 7.206miles for every litre of fuel used.
Multiply that 7.206 miles x 4.546 (litres in a Uk gallon) and that gives us an accurate calculation of how far you travelled for every Uk gallon consumed:
32.76MPG overall
This is on a pretty damn un fuel efficient T4 / Greys / low comp / ported head/ BD14 engine too!
Even im shocked at that!!
Have i fooked up the calculation somewhere?
That is fookin QUALITY work there Stu
It seems you have put an end to the days of having to put up with shite economy if you want a powerful car. I just did a quick calculation......
If you go to alot of shows/meets in your cossie & do say 6,000 miles per annum. If you take an average off the shelf chip & say for arguments sake you get 19mpg average & then have the exact same spec car but remapped with lambda control to give an average of 32mpg.......
6,000miles divided by 19mpg = 315.7gallons @ Ł4.04 = Ł1,275
6,000miles divided by 32mpg = 187.5gallons @ Ł4.04 = Ł757.50
A STAGGERING difference of Ł517.50 in a year!!
The remap has just paid for itself in a fooking year!!

Excellent work Stu and Rob!
Not sure how you manage 32 mpg for a cossie though!! My pug 205 is a 2.0 16v, 12:1 C.R, and runs at 15:1AFR at all light throttle conditions and I've never had better than 28 mpg. For a car that weighs the same as a crisp packet maybe its got something to do with my lead right foot, lol!!!

We aint Done these cars to race each other. We have done them for our own pleasure. Me and rob dont need to know who's is fastest or who has most power ect.All we need to know is that they are fast ENOUGH.
We dont want to start round 57 of tuner wars now do we.

Sounds like a top spec same as the one I am going to aim for with my 500 when its finished , but keeping standard comp as the motors already built.
Rob was it you that beeped me yesterday in Cardiff, by the time I looked a white van had gone past.

If your figures are right Ian thats 34.04 Mpg pal. Should make driving to the various shows around the country a bit more affordable eh mate? More cash left over for performance parts and wome
