If youve got a Mk1, you need to do the 200SX front bumper conversion, 99% straight swap...

 

lol, i would never have guessed that would have worked! doesnt look too bad does it! im still looking for that combat front bumper, it will go with the back one! lol, besides, i think the twin spots either side looks mean on the combat bumper..... have you seen it?
bloody expensive isnt it! looking second hand on ebay, which is where i got my back bumper from. it came damaged (surprise,surprise) prob better off buying new! i dunno......... lol

 

it was built by reyland, it had a cosworth yb engine, i believe it was about 500bhp, i have the magazine feature somewhere if you want a more accurate description

FAIR PLAY mondeos were ment to be the cheap affordable family car with no class but what really happened was slightly different, yeah, most of them are still pulling trailers, sitting in scrap yards or rusting on someones drive way but they made quite an impression and there still around..... some of them are sexy as hell!! i say congrats to the mondy what a car!

 

XRstu's stepdad has an awesome mondy.

Its a 2.5 v6 with a turbo on autronics.

I knocked him up a basemap recently and its off to Mark soon for proper mapping i beleive

i used to rip down the motorway from sunderland to shrewsbury and back around once a month,, NEVER did my car let me down.....EVER! still doesnt and its a bit neglected at the mo im ashamed to say

 

All the mondeos in shrewsbury have turned into ENGLAND FLAGS! especailly the red ones, theyve all been painted from bonnet to boot with white stripes!.....lol, looks fab! my Favourite car in the whole world looking like the england flag, supporting our team..... brings tears to my eyes! LOL! ive seen about 10 mondys and one fiesta! so far

the above mondys are STUNNING, lol.

 

this is one im doing i bought it from a salvage auction last year its a glx with the full rs dress up kit and the juicy seven spokes also its a turbo diesel with 34000 miles on it ive been putting a full si interior in it and electric rear windows also i had the rear wash wipe rear window put in and the wire's were allready there

 

Can anyone please tell me a decent site where i can get the combat kit from for a mk1 mondeo at a good price? cheers

 

hey fiestamk1trurbo! nice one for saving that mondy! what are your next plans for it? its in quite good shape really from a salvage! shocked.lol

 

just going to get it ready for the road maybe refurb the wheels a later date but im not touching the engine because it runs so sweet even though its a diesel should last me years though

 

them TD are good runners, car looks tidy as it is too! got yourself a goodn' there.... mines runnin like a bag of crap at mo, engine mount has gone again! and over fulling but i figure its cos the engine was a bag of crap in the first place, was only a make do cos me first one blew up! lol gotta get this 2.0ltr black top in soon, only done about 40000 miles, clean as a whistle, be chuffed when i get that in, just hoping the ECU works with the engine, should do, checked the modd num' with ford..... think ill need different drive shafts tho, and a release bearing for the gearbox, mite just buy a sports clutch kit instead, only an extra 40 quid or so, release bearings cost a bomb from ford! crazy! ill stop rattlin' on now...........! lol makin a pratt of myself

 

ive just got another for spares its a 2.0 si with 34000 on the clock and its got tracktion control and some weird electronic suspension i think it makes the suspension harder that lot is going on ebay if you need any bits give us a shout i have a full car for bits

 

what price do you have in mind for that or are you just seein how the biddin goes? all that must be a bas**rd to fit to my car, i enquired having mine converted to 4x4, someone said about £3,000 bit shocked! is this the goin price do you think? i only thought it was the back axel that needed takin off a 4x4 mondy and maybe diff gearbox and HARD labour, im not sure, not to clued up on conversions like that ... still want it done like, but no way in hell can i afford it for a long time, still seems a bit expensive.

 

your right about the gearbox bits and back axle but £3000 they are talking out of there arse ive seen mondeo 4x4 at the auction i go to but they go for to much money because the are rare

 

tell me about it! it wasnt the car they priced up tho, it was the whole conversion.... mind you, the longer i leave it, the harder it will be to find a 4x4 mondy i think, gettin like rocking horse sh*t now, probably end up paying that price one day! lol.
where abouts is this auction you go too? is it any good? sorry if im bein too nosey.

 

if you go to www.universal-salvage.com anybody can go you have to join to bid and they have a yard near chester which could be nearer to you if i come across one i will keep you in mind and no your not being nosey any thing to help anybody out

Thanks for that mate, appreciate it alot, yeah, chesters not that far away, i dont mind travelling anyway to be honest, probably best to have it close though if buying a car from auction or salvage, probably wont get home with the car otherwise,lol.
yeah, please keep and eye out for a 4x4 for me, i must admit, ive only seen one on the road recently when i was living in darlington, that was about 6monts ago still, very tidy mondy that.
