Anyone know which companys offer windscreen repair service for free? And if so is this done through my insurance company or not?

On most insurance companies excess for a new screen is £50, but if you ring them up, explain it's just a chip smaller than a £1 coin, the guy will come out and repair it for free (usually)

I've just had mine done off the insurance. Look at your isnurance documents and there's a windscreen claims number. RAC just dind mine, 18 year old lad came out and did it, took real care, speant a good hour or so.

£560.......bloody hell......got a quote today for a new heated screen from RAC and it was £279..............same screen but local windscreen specialist £162 to you sir lol !!!!!. amazing how much prices vary but its always worth shopping around as i found out.

Got an evil chip in my FRST screen but I wat a new one as the heating elements are knackered.

RAC did my Audi one last year for the MOT and they did a spot on job as well. Bloke was really carefull and didn't rush the job just to get done

RAC came round and did the deed today. Very impressed with the result, took me a good min or two to find the crack and all thats left is a very slight mark! Very impressed! Includes a 5 year warrently
