I have to say that looking at the noted joblist and the outcome financially it seems that they probably did the said work cheaper than i would...

I also think whoever sold the engine will have done so as a non warranted unit and therefore is not at fault as its impossible to quantify an engines internal state when its sat on a florr somewhere.... its all just been one unfortunate, painfull and expensive excersize for poor Maria...

I dont think ANYONE is at fault here, i just think fate has been extremely unkind to Maria in as much as she has bought an engine second hand which has subsequently failed leaving her back at step 1

9 fookin K!...is alot of money and regardless of any other thing the girl came on here just making a point that she spent all that money and it's all fooked right now thats all....give her a fookin break! Feel sorry for you Maria.

Hopefully you can use the majority of your old bits and get a proper engine built for good. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Bests - Sunny.

Sunny,

I think we all appreciate that fact.

Was just hoping SCC might get a break too, seeing as everybody decided to blame the company.

£2600 for a second hand engine. Is that cheap? I really have no idea on cossie engine costs.

How much is a new bottom end? How much is a head?

I never realised how expensive things were! Fook cossie ownership

Maria - sorry to hear of your troubles. I certainly know how you feel from experience.

Pon

I havnt mentioned any names what so ever just told maria to seek legal advice likei would tell anyone else, ive been in simiar position and i re couped my costs

its like the business im in, if i sold a server for 10k when its worth 7k, id have my clients wanting to burn me alive.

same principle, i know a garage/tuner has to make money etc etc but there something called "takin the piss"

maria,

id get the 9k justified first then get quotes from many different peeps as possible and see if/how much ur outta pocket

regards

Have you read the whole post......

As Above....

Well I was expecting this,

Not that i have to justify the amount we charged.....

our bill was just over 5k

of that consisted.....

20 Hours Labour - Not alot considering the work carried out, - Strip out old engine and inspect.
Sourcing the relevent parts needed (listed below)
Strip the 2WD engine "SUPPLIED BY MARIA" of its sump and auxillary bits that were not suitable for the Esc Cos- water pump, thermostat housing etc etc then refitting the old ones from original engine where possible
Sourcing and Fitting of Management Parts, loom etc
Taking Manifolds off - completely stripping them and sending someone to the chroming place 20 miles away, then picking them up again and rebuilding.
Fitted new cambelt, Pulleys etc etc
Fitted complete engine assembly into car and get running

If anyone can do that little lot for less than 20 Hours fucking good luck to em it took us a good weeks work but because we felt sorry for Maria (maybe some of the lads even fancied her ) we compromised on the labour,
Wish i never bothered but hey ya live and learn!!!!!

Parts included the following
Second Hand 4x4 sump
New ford Oil Pump
Oil pick up pipe
Gaskets etc,
Cambelt
Aux Belt
Chroming of manifold
Powder coated rocker cover
Breather and fitting kit
ACT sensor
Phase sensor
green injectors
3 bar
amplifier
grp a coil
plugs
-31
TPS
Bufty bits - MAP bracket - Ignition moule bracket - Susp tops - Bonnet stay
L8 ECU
L8 Stg3 chip
L8 Loom
Samco Coolant Hoses + ancillary
Samco Boost Hoses
Strut Brace
Alcon Clutch Kit
4x 225-40-18 Yokohama Tyres
AirFilter
+ all oils and fluids etc..........

Theres alot of money in bits there !!!!!

God i love the internet

Maria did tell me earier on today that Mark Shead had looked at the bill and thought we had looked after her ok and he would have been more expensive..........

Never posted on a Maria thread..is she well fit?

Thats why i go DIY....the labour charges are too much for me to stomach!

Must be gutted...as for 9k you could have bought another Escos!

How about we all chip in a tenner done thru Stu to help the poor girl out?Shoot me down if you like but a bit of unity from us Ford folk wouldnt go astray...maybe give the contract to Stu aswell so he gets business and Maria gets it rebuilt cheaper....Just a suggestion!

It has low compression on cylinders 2 and 3, probably damaged piston or rings due to the temp it got when overheated..........

Considering that most companies quote £3k to covert EECIV to Webber, you should be able to see where Rich is coming from .
