If you had bothered to read what I wrote, you would see that I'm not saying that you are criticising SCC at all.

I'm saying that you are throwing monetary values in the air without explaining what they're for, leaving the company open to unfair criticism.

The point I was trying to make before was that four tyres and a complee clutch kit is the best part of Ł800, hence me helping to explain the costings.

hey all havent posted on here before so be nice

Just thought i would drop a line, Maria has been the bestest mate of mine for a long time now.

She has been through hell and high water for her cossie, her and her hubby have worked day and night to get the one car she always wanted...a cossie

Just wanted to show my support for her and tell her i'm thinking of her

If anyone knows Maz like i do, they'll know how crappy she is feeling right now, lets hope once her finances are sorted that someone can REALLY help her

and a complee clutch kit is the best part of Ł800

ok so why have i got down on my receipt is:
Ł122.39 - Ford clutch cover and release bearing
Ł164.99 - alcon clutch centre

now when i do my math, that equates to Ł287.38 ( inc VAT )so where do you get Ł800 from?

Rich, as far as i am concerned, me and you have been good buddies throughout all of this, and i really dont want something like this to affect it, i came on here to tell people what was happening with my car, thats all!

If people wanna think that 9k is too much to spend on what i have had done, then let them!

Legal advice for what Ranj?

If you don't know what was done, how can you possibly suggest anything untoward has occured?

Do you or do you not know what was done for the money?

If I took my car to Mark for example, and he charged me more than I paid for the same job somewhere else, is he ripping me off? No, of course not, he may just charge more.

maria, I feel sooooooooooo sorry for you. My first RS sat on my drive for six months because I was sooooo skint.

I thinbk its time you bought a socket set and a haynes manual.

Theres nothing more satisfying than doing the job yourself I am sure 200 blocks aint too dear, its labour charges that hike it up.

Go on girl................ show us what you're made of

Sorry to be pedantic, but the Ł800 that Rich was quoting was for tyres as well

The point I was trying to make before was that four tyres and a complee clutch kit is the best part of Ł800, hence me helping to explain the costings.

Well I was expecting this,

Not that i have to justify the amount we charged.....

our bill was just over 5k

of that consisted.....

20 Hours Labour - Not alot considering the work carried out, - Strip out old engine and inspect.
Sourcing the relevent parts needed (listed below)
Strip the 2WD engine "SUPPLIED BY MARIA" of its sump and auxillary bits that were not suitable for the Esc Cos- water pump, thermostat housing etc etc then refitting the old ones from original engine where possible
Sourcing and Fitting of Management Parts, loom etc
Taking Manifolds off - completely stripping them and sending someone to the chroming place 20 miles away, then picking them up again and rebuilding.
Fitted new cambelt, Pulleys etc etc
Fitted complete engine assembly into car and get running

If anyone can do that little lot for less than 20 Hours fucking good luck to em it took us a good weeks work but because we felt sorry for Maria (maybe some of the lads even fancied her ) we compromised on the labour,
Wish i never bothered but hey ya live and learn!!!!!

Parts included the following
Second Hand 4x4 sump
New ford Oil Pump
Oil pick up pipe
Gaskets etc,
Cambelt
Aux Belt
Chroming of manifold
Powder coated rocker cover
Breather and fitting kit
ACT sensor
Phase sensor
green injectors
3 bar
amplifier
grp a coil
plugs
-31
TPS
Bufty bits - MAP bracket - Ignition moule bracket - Susp tops - Bonnet stay
L8 ECU
L8 Stg3 chip
L8 Loom
Samco Coolant Hoses + ancillary
Samco Boost Hoses
Strut Brace
Alcon Clutch Kit
4x 225-40-18 Yokohama Tyres
AirFilter
+ all oils and fluids etc..........

Theres alot of money in bits there !!!!!

God i love the internet

Maria,

Please give me some credit and read what I wrote:

four tyres and a complee clutch kit is the best part of Ł800
As for your:

"If people wanna think that 9k is too much to spend on what i have had done, then let them!"

Why? Shouldn't you be correcting people instead of allowing them to think that? Or is that what you want?

Please remember that this fault is with an engine that we neither supplied or built. Personally,as I have told you over the phone and MSN, I'm gutted for you, but there's nothing I can do.

All I'm trying to is balance this ridiculously unfair bandwagon jumping, bearing in mind we both know how much things cost.

but there's nothing I can do.
Im not asking you to do ANYTHING rich!

anyway im off to the hairdressers to destress for a while, i shall no doubt return to see hwat else other peeps have written!

see ya in a few hours!

oh ok and if you include the head gasket - head swap that was nearly Ł800

4 hours labour - no where nearly how long this kind of job takes
Removing head, send to machine shop to find its scrap, rebuilding of head "supplied" with new ex guides, refacing of all valves and seats, re lapping in all 16 valves and rebuilding head - refitting onto car.

With parts including
Grp A headset and bolts
oil etc.....

Why is it Maria that when i was talking to you earlier you told me you were more than happy with the work we carried out, and couldn't possibly hold us responsible for the out come of your car, Now im sensing that you kind of think you were ripped off

Thanks for the Headache

Why Thanks Mate......

Could afford to do many jobs like this though, too much time taken up.....

Give me 10 mondeo services anytime (2 hours each = 20 hours)
would have got that little lot sorted in a couple of days with much less stress.......

From an outside point of view Rob, I dont think she is mate.

I think she is just angry at the fact the car has gone boom again.

Now i havent actually had a lot of work done at SCC in the last 2 years due to Non ownership of a cossie

but

That bill sounds VERY good value to me ...... due to the sheer work load involved and the amount of parts fitted . Surely once you have spent that much etc you would look at the additional couple of grand for the bottom end build as an expected spend and for the FUN that you will have once its built its worth it

I sold my cossie once i had spent a fair bit more than that through having a STUPID size 15 right foot

Good luck with it Maria

And rob How many times have i told you that giving good looking ladies discount isnt sound business sense

PS

Hello pon

almost 6 grand not including the engine

Rich. I know exactly what your trying to say and your only trying to stick up for SCC's reputation but for fook sake. The girl has just thrown 9 grand down the drain and is left with sweet FA to show for it. Give her a break mate.

SCC have done a LOT of work on your car from what I can see, and i'm sure they wouldn't rip you (or anyone) off. It looks to me to be one of those "live and learn" things with regards to buying a second hand engine, the phrase "buy cheap buy twice" has never seemed more appropriate!

What happened to your old engine etc? That will be worth some money still! (complete seized small turbo engine + management)

Yep, all that work/parts does seem V. Reasonable to me. As said, I think the issue really is with the person who sold you the engine BUT there probably aint alot you can do as it was 2nd hand.

9k is alot of money in anyones book no matter what has been done to the car, and to end up with still no car in working order must be devastating for you maria and I really feel for you.

But the last thing you want to be doing now is burning bridges.

Nige, slightly off topic but i'm having problems with an ex-landlord and may well be needing legal advice etc depending on what happens in the next couple of days, is this your line of business?
