I removed it as the file size was in excess of 200k, which is well outside the rules.

It does matter cause some people browse the site on mobile connections and dont want to be downloading loads of expensive avatars etc, plus it effects the speed that the images appear for other users.

Agreed that it doesnt effect the PF server in the slightest though obviously.

 

It does actually, due to teh way PHP refreshes its links on every request, but exactly what effect that has escapes me, pet explained it all somewhere and its something to do with PHP software checking and validating links before serving them out.

 

The rules are there wherever the avatar is held.

it was decided to be done this way as some people seem to ignore the 3 requests they used to get ... then got the arse because the 4th was normally to tell em they were no longer entitled to have one ...

So I feel thats well insiude the 550 x 150 and 25kb

it wasn't when i checked just now .. so i have no idea as to why

i always refresh any pictures once checked just incase my cache has stored it .. also cache is emptied 3 times a week ...

if it was my fault for any reason then i will take a ... sometimes i have been wrong ... and can stand up and take the flack that i create

but then 26804 bytes is above the 25600 allowed ..
