Default Can anyone tell me what a vulcan engine is?

my Bro has a Mk3 Capri, it use to be a 1.6 lazer but now has a 2.0 pinto engine but he wants more power and to go 3ltr, hes found a guy selling a 1978 3.0 ghia, 3.1 vulcan engine, quick shift, and rally exhaust.

he wants to use it as a doner car but i have never heard of a 'vulcan' engine?? any good? straight swap?

also the ad says needs recommisioning (not reconditioning) what does that mean?

cheers

for 500 coins he gets the whole car inc. the 'rally exhaust' so sounds better than standard right? and the price is good.

still not sure about the recommisioning

EXCELLENT people but are VERY VERY busy with work at the moment...im sure that says something about their work...although there have been a number of stories about them, i have NEVER had any problems with them in the years we've been going there!

Flow figures from my new head they done are simply outstanding!!!!

Steve also does the work for Gino's Mk1 Cossie powered drag car with runs in the 9's IIRC

If you are going to go for an Essex (or any shonky old Ford V6) then it's worth going for one that's been tuned.
