Dingy,
Not sure why you are struggling with T1-R's as mine were really good the other week at ScoobyNetLive.
As already said.... perhaps you should look at getting two sets. Perhaps 888's for the handling and then normal T1-R's for the drag stuff (or something else better suited to that discipline). Of course if it rains on the day at TOTB.... you better think again for the specific discipline!
Good luck mate.

Rick,
Mmmm perhaps it's dependant on car application and setup , as mine has shitloads of grip/traction and handling is spot on.
I know the T1R is one of the preferred WET's road legal tyre for track use though.

Get some sticky tyres on there Steve, youve seen the results in the recent tests with cars with less power, your car flys, just needs sticky tyres now. You can get either Yoko 0048r's or Toyo r888's. Or go mad and get some mickey thompson's Terry davies done a quarter mile time of 10.01 @140mph at 7700rpm in 4th gear on sunday with them on

So good in fact they are standard fitment on TVR's i believe. They certainly are on ALL the cars in my local TVR dealer. They are great in a fwd application on my fiesta too
Perhaps they suit some cars in sizes and applications and not others. I could definitley imagine them to feel squirmy with extended hard usage such as the ring or a track session tho
