Yes I said carpet fitters not lickers before someone says it?
If you are, how long you been doing it, and how long did you lad before you went on your own?
Just started on me own after 18mths-2yrs being a lad, and I'm still on a steep learning curve. Shit my pants and drive in, it feels like.

i am,fully trained domestic carpet fitter and contract floorlayer.
been at it 20 years and still learning.
used to do all thorntons shops, sainsburys, john lewis shops etc.
domestic fitting was good when you were in an old couples house (biscuits, tea etc).
cheapo 1.99 a metre jobs were always shitholes.
lot of money out there when you fit for yourself.
good luck and always wear snickers trousers with the knee pads built in to protect your knees.

I am as well, started with carpets for about 2 years and now am doing Amtico and Karndean for the last 6 years. Working for a firm still, love fitting the stuff better than carpet i didnt want to carry heavy underlay and carpets around anymore. Would go on my own one day.
