Default Cd to MP3 encoding software.

Looking to put a few albums onto cd-r's to be played on my MP3 headunit but windows media player only converts to wma files which aren't recognised by my headunit - any other decent programs that can convert to mp3?

Cheers

Nero extracts mp3's from audio cds as well, does a good job and is easy to use, just go to extras then save tracks change settings and file names to what you want and thats it, although windows media player also does a good job.

I use Realplayer and have a problem where my database keeps crashing and I have to rebuild it. I've got over 6000 mp3s on my hard drive so it takes ages to rebuild

Winamp is pretty good but Realplayer works nicely with my ATi Remote Wonder

Cheers,

Andy

iTunes is a complete load of shit

WMP 9 and previous will not rip to MP3 and only rips to WMA, but Media player 10 and onwards rips to MP3 (max 320kbps)

To rip from CD to MP3 either use WMP10 + or use this;

http://www.nch.com.au/rip/

To be able to convert from one file type, try these (these will NOT allow you copy from CD disc ot MP3, you need to use an audio ripper for that)
