tips to remove seized sump plug...
td escort oil needs changing as its more like treacle now than oil, but sump plug is seized solid and rounded to fuck, obviously thats why oil is so manky as obviosly previos owner had a mare trying to remove, best way to remove without fooking sump please peeps

yup ally sump thats why dont want to force it as dont want to be changing the sump after ripping out threads, did think of welding a nut on but dont think ill risk the hammer and chisel

you dont understand how bad the plug is lol looks like they have rounded on a 13mm, tried a alf inch and made worse,filled a flat and tried open end and made even worse! ill try that 1st i think then weld a nut on if no joy

had same bloody problem with mine tried hammer chissel and i fooked it up well bad so then bought second hand sump off ebay that turned up and nut was fooked too so it still aint had oil change yet the bloody thing as cant be arsed to fit new sump or even try get the nut off the spare sump

I've got a pair of these:
If you can get on the bung square there's nothing they won't grip. The teeth are angled so they really bite into the metal.
I got mine from my local snap-on dealer but they are water pipe pliers made by Knipex so you can get them from lots of home diy type shops (£5 cheaper without the little gold Snap-on logo on the handle too )
