'Old skool' people maybe don't want to progress and wade through pages and pages of nonsense to find a half-decent thread to contribute to and when/if they do, see it turned into a flame-war, as is more often the case now.

i agree with the first part, but it seems to be the 'old skool' people who are at war with each other

although i find it entertaining myself

I defo think the split was better, but nobody voted for it and it was lost!!

This type of Forum is OK, but it’s a pity they took over this one.
I agree with you Rod.

I also think, if it had been allowed to stay, that the short-lived split of General Discussion into cars and non-cars IMO would have helped stop this current decline.

Would be interesting to see what a poll would say now......

Have to agree - it was a bit like the early days again when the split happened - the cars only section was much better with the shite chopped out

Absolutely spot on that like , Ask Stu about the official figures on hits and members of this site and Im sure they will speak for themselves. The new comers make this site as much as us and its just change unfortunately....for you. There is still a lot of Ford banter on this site ,its just broke up into different rooms.ie you wont find a thread about Nikki from Big Brother in the Escort Cosworth room will ya
People forget Stu named that room GENERAL DISCUSSION, anything and everything not necesarily about Fords.
Sorry but times have changed and this board is so big theres rooms to go to if u wanna speak about certain stuff

Should have called the split section:

Old skool car talk

General chat

That would have kept everyone happy

Most of the old old old RSOCbb users from 98/99 are still here, but only pop in now and then......

A lot of people have moved on from Fords now as well, so naturally spend less time here........

Not sure what you mean RANJ, have a look at the 1st page of GD mostly threads started by "old-school" members and TBH most of the whingeing, arguing and hostile behaviour is from the same people so how can you blame the board going downhill (which I don't personally think is happening) on newcomers?

I am old skool but would not splitting the the board into a non car section part and a car section part.Intimate new users as we was all new users once.

It does seem seem to the same "old skool users" always arguing.

But because a new user does not have a proper ford in some of our eyes does it make him any less of a car ethusiast.

But go to a typical RSOC or Passionfordmeet there enough gold chains around from old and new skool users to keep any chav happy.

ROFLOL @ This topic, its almost seasonal now, weve had one EVERY summer when people get off their arses and out into teh sunshine, suddenly pundits decide PF has gone to teh dogs, and its ALWAYS done by someone who pretends he doenst come here but is spotted online ALL the time...

This is teh only post that stood out to me as being from someone who understands what has happened the last 6 months. Well spotted that man.

WHY people insist on wanting to read ONLY a general discussion room and then moan theres nothing about cars in it when we have lots of car specific rooms available to read i have no clue!

There does seem to be a lot of random Chavs turning up but tbh it won't last. As said, these people will either get bored/sick of being given endless abuse

I've been a member here for 2-3 years now I think, and I personally feel that this place was better around 12 months ago, but that's not to say it won't ever be like that again. Everything goes in stages, highs and lows. It's the way of things, the way of the world.

It's important that the regulars and old skool all maintain their support of this site by using it and not disappearing if we want it to be any good once the Chav revolution has died off.

I don't think it's any different at all, just busier, and not so many drunken weekend online all nighters!!

I also think a lot of people have continued to push the boundaries of rs tuning in the last few years??? When I first remember joining the cossie scene it was an achievement to get to 400bhp with your saff, now its more like the norm! And I think the reyland crew might disagree with that also?? (no offence)

Rod matey I see were ya coming from but the site is called PassionFord not Passionpushtheboundaries. not all ford enthusiasts wanna talk about top speed or track day or whatever, they just wanna go on a ford based site and talk about all sorts of stuff in the "community".
Despite what u all say the majority of threads on here are about Fords, I know u get the odd day when theres crap but hey it cant be amazing all the time fellas.
I personally come on here cause I just cannot talk to my girlfriend about cars cause she wil instantly put her hand in my face and politely say" Steven I dont wanna fuckin know, go and have your bonnet talk with someone else"

Ford Escort Rs Cosworth

Ford Sierra Rs Cosworth

Please take the time to browse them before replying. I would appreciate anyone elses comments too. We also have rooms for many other cars, such as the Rs Turbos and XR's. So why moan you cant read about them in a GENERAL DISCUSSION room?

Since a certain user came here its turned this place into max power heaven...although he wasnt the start..the start IMO was itsmeagain who brought japanese talk here....it progressed from there

But who cares i am retiring soon to a life of banter on an elderly persons forum.

My mistake, years ago, was letting to much room specific stuff take place in general discussion. When we started to more actively move things around, people didnt realise it seems and thus they think the place is quieter, when in fact THEY are actually just looking in teh wrong places.
