Okay, it's a little bit of misinformation. The chatter is nothing to do with the wastegate. It's called turbo chatter, and a few pedantic types like myself like to pick people up on it regularly.....

Well it's fair enoughI mean Subaru's are the fastest thing out there aren't they and oh so classy. Did I mention a mate got a clean 93 WRX for 1600 quid last Summer? That makes it worth less than half of my 89 Ford Escort. I wish most Subaru owners would fuck off as so many have a chip on their shoulder and have serious delusions of grandure.

That's what always makes me laugh. I'm 32 this year and certainly aspire to drive something a little more than a Mk4 Escort, but I just cannot replicate the driving experience I get with the RST. I could probably afford to take a classic Scooby to 500bhp with what I have spent on the RST, but I bet money that my RST would still give me FAR FAR more of an adrenaline rush to drive.

nope, personally i would rather drive an xr2 than an evo. i'd like the speed etc of the evo and it goes without saying that the evo is in a different league. but, had one as a family car when i was a youngun and ever since liked them.

i see what he's saying... its all about what you prefer. i'd have my sapphire over any evo, not because its better, just because its what i like. i've driven evo's and scoobs along with alot of other jap machinery and its all very nice, but its not the old skool ford feeling that i've grown to love.

the only jap car i want is my old 323 turbo 4x4! i loved it, the 80's controls, the shoddy bodywork and the fact it went off the clock with ease!

With regard to this comment , surley the scooby driver should be just as guilty then for having a go with Alex. It would seem that the person who made this comment never has any tussles with any other car on the road. Must be a perfect driver .

C&B's car is (I await to be corrected) 1600 CVH 8v running just over 300bhp with almost as much torque. I beleive it runs Omex engine management. It was built for top speed as that's what they wanted to build it for rather than outright acceleration.
