DOH festers smokin again!
Head gasket went a few weeks back, had head welded and machined etc... all back on and fine but the rads about knackered and it very nearly overheated yeterday.
Gettin the dreaded mayo again but also theres a fair bit of blue smoke, been gettin the odd puff now and again but its coming out of the little breather filter when you rev it now. Recon the rings are worn aswell.
Maybe re-build time I tink. Fair play to it tho its had a hell of a lot of grief, santa pod runs and track days. Battered it everywhere.
How much roughly for a rebuild on these festa turbs engines?? Dont want anythin stupid jus around 180 odd bhp, jus a little more than it is now .
Who do ya recomend??

when i was looking i think PJ costs 2000 for a full rebuild & NMS charges 1600 but you have to take engine out first. not 100% but its a rough idea.
also, you might want to check your turbo. when my HG went the engine boiled & the turbo seals went. just replaced it with new turbo & the difference is amazing!

Cool, might give karl a bell then. Would be nice if it was jus the turbo cus I've got one in me wardrobe!
Gotta decide wether I can be arsed to fix it tho, meant to be a track car only but cus the cab aint finished its been on the road. Needs a new rad, suspension, discs, tune and possibly a re-build.
Dont spose anyone knows roughly what you'd get for breakin a FRST??

depends what spec it is as to what you'd get for breaking it.
if its smoking out of the breather then the engine is breathing heavy & thats caused by too much pressure in the crankcase. mine does it slightly when under heavy load. sounds like rebuilds are in order!
