Nope canny afford then to busy with my E46 328ci, E30 325 drift car and the other halfs new corsa derv....

But you see they all dont scream middle aged crisis.......

One is for the local wanabe gang-sta and the other is what my grandad drives, he by the way is 89.......

Anyway, you dont drive the other cossie you just point and squirt it when no one else is about and even then you deny even liking the "RS SCENE"

I am only 36 thank you...so not there yet!!!Your Grandad may drive a Jag...but probably not a supercharged one ....As for wannabe gangsta i am feeling you bro ....You are right i have no interest in the RS scene...my Cossie is purely because of the kinda business i do....and yes again correct it is a str8 line car deffo too much power for corners

..PS the Jag is perminately set on sport mode which automatically stiffens the suspension that an old mans teeth would fall out

They are cracking cars, great value for money [considering they were Ł50k+ new and you can pick up a reasonable mileage S plate for Ł8k - PM me for details ]

No offence, but over the years we've sold dozens of XJR's [and plenty more lesser models] and the average age of the buyer has been well within grandparent territory.

Aalso, if average life expectancy is 75-80, I'd say you sit pretty much within middle age. Embrace it, don't fight it.

And watch for rot around the boot lid [regardless of how old the car is]

You cant get earlier than very late 97 R plate on the V8 version...in reality it was 5k because the plate is very nice

Indeed, scarey that a car less than 10 years old has lost about 50 grand of the price or so (depending on what options it had!)

If it wasnt for the fuel economy, i would without a doubt have one as a daily driver, they are fucking fantastic all round cars, comfy, stylish, handle pretty well for the weight, and go fantastically (although im not a huge fan of autos)

But sadly, i do about 800 miles a week, so sub 20mpg isnt really very appealing

And it's still got a few quid left to lose

I find this sort of depreciation funny tbh - because some idiot actually bought it new [or convinced their employers to buy it for them] .

Take a look at what an S500 of the same year was new and how much it is now, even worse depreciation than the jag

Paddy i think the XJR will level out to a minmum of 5k for a 98 plate in years to come..purely because of the BHP....The straight 6 version is still fetching upto 6k even for a very early 95 job...althiugh have seen them as low as 4k now.

In reality though all i care about is paying 6k for a 8.5k car
