To the best of my knowlege I still have the Crappy Diesel Hire Car Datron Timed Top Speed Record Challenge with 125.8mph in a Mondeo TDCI (clock was showing 10mph over that IIRC )
I was 2mph faster than even Phil Morrison in that car that day, and im sure with some late breaking (or moving the barriers at the end and driving thru the carpark ) I could push 127

Best one was in the Hyundai Getz we had down there once, 100mph on the Datron took about 10 runs

The GT ART car was supposed to have done an unofficial 211mph in the hands of the previous owner. Take that as you will.....

Really? I thought they grounded it for good as I went to the airshow where it had its "last flight".

Would be cool if it came back again

hI
The only Porsche to do 200 (202mph) at Brunters is owned by a bloke called Guy Ratcliffe (think thats his name) Its a Silver 911 of some type & he took the rear wing off to be able to reach 200. He won TV2004 & several V-max events before Myself & Joel turned up at TV2005 & set new standards. We have run 210.2 at Woodbridge, but never had a dry at Brunters in our latest Spec. The Brunters record is 211 by a Long Tailed Macca 1. Joels 215.7 is the fastest ive heard of & that is a tough Target to beat. Tests suggest we will max out at 213/214. We have booked the date & now only have to GO DO IT.

Paul Waite

Some of the funniest stories ive EVER heard involved him (Non car related tho Take my wife, no, please )

Used to say about the most humanly possible from a Cossie engine was something or other, and he had one with EVERYTHING ever in the world done to it, and it was a "grenade engine" as he called it.

Basically he seemed to not understand the concept that there clearly are better and more capable tuners than the ones he used

Pretty sure he said the most humanly possible with a Supra engine was 600odd too

aye thats the dude His porsche with the race engine had a timer to rebuild in it - 100hours or something - was a moby dick engine or something - god i am racking my brains now lol! Should have been fast though....

I think i beat his grenade engine clain on a welded 2wd block built out of odds and sods lying around.... funny that one never lasted V long

He actually had a EVO as well as the Porsche, called me a bullshitter & challenged me to 0-160 dash which he said he would win with ease. What he didnt realise is that Mark tunes EVO's & knew his car & mark said my Cossie would eat it. The match was to take place at TOTB & guess what he didnt show . Never seen any times for his Porch but he was claiming 240mph or something like that.

Hehe - I knew you'd all remember him in the end

I still think the porsche did have a real moby dick spec engine which should in turn have made it hell of a quick, but there was also some v funny chat like above

And Rod - Imagine baiting someone with insider knowledge....

Makes no odds if the gearings right.

And ford seem to have done well with the TDCIs 6speeders.

It took 700bhp to get a Porsche up to 202mph in 1.5miles to get to 243mph would require 1317bhp according to my Data. Would require more than that because it would need longer to Stop & require a lot longer gearing to get there. I guess 1600bhp should do it. So it is possible to do it because he was claiming that type of Power, if he did all credit cos thats incredible, but ive never seen it proved.
