Default Connecting an Xbox 360 to a PC? Help...

Does anybody know how to get an Xbox 360 connected to a PC and get them file sharing?

I have them connected using a cable but I can't get the PC to "see" the cable in the network settings and get them talking to each other. I have done it before with the original Xbox to get it internet sharing for Live! but I can't remember how to do it.

Please help.

i had an absolute nightmare with mine, i tried to do it with mine using a wireless network adaptor, tried everything to connect it to my pc, it worked fine for xbox live, but wouldnt let me access my pc hard drive, i was on the fone to microsoft about 50 times, turns out you really need a pc thats running windows media centre as its operating software, so it sounds like you have the same problem as me mate.

I had an absoloute nightmare with mine too .. surprise surprise

was running a speedtouch 530 modem router, with usb giving internet to my pc and the cat 5 connection going to my xbox. couldnt get it to work for love nor money..

eventually bought a cheap 4 port router

ran my network through this and it connected first time

dont know if thats any use Tony but just a thought, it is notoriously difficult to get running on a normal xp computer

heres a link to the xbox forums with a specific forum for this type of connectivity
