You can run a standard intercooler if you want to, but it defeats the object of doing a 2.1 as you won't get anywhere near the best from the engine.

I would worry more about what internals he has in that zvh.

It may be running stock zetec pistons which are fine up to a certain power but an engine like that would cost pennies to build so isn't worth much.

that car has been on ebay many times lol and ive necer seen it told

i wouldn buy one with a std intercooler unless the car is a std cvh

if you want a 2.1 zetec id look at finding one thats been done properly with all the rite bits, even one with a 16v conversion

Ryan, you want to puit a post up here about Stevie RW`s old 1600cvh s2, it had a real 190@wheels and done a proved 150mph done brunters, the best bit ask about the cost and spec.

iirc it was power engineering bigvalve head and cam, home made intercooler and AVA fuel mod, along with the usual exhaust and filter.

Thats was the best bit about this car, it done the 150mph at well over 100,000 miles and was on the original engine still. It only held 15psi so no clutch/box worries.
